Aim: One Large Twister Board

Hey,

As part of an group social night, we are looking towards the possibility of a large twister board in a school hall. For this, we are going to need lots of coloured circles in 4 colours.

Any ideas on how to create these circles? Where to get enough paper circles to stick on the floor, but large enough perhaps?

lol sounds like fun. Only thing i could find was this. Might have to give them a call to see if they are made out of thick paper or more details

it might be best to buy that plastic table covering that you often find in markets and make the circles yourselves. Maybe the school could use them for PE et afterwards?

Not sure how you would stick them down though. Maybe you could use spray mount that can then be washed off. I would test that it can be washed off though

How about lino/vinyl flooring offcuts? strong yet flexible!

The activity is nothing to do with the school, they wldnt be interested in it afterwards. I doubt we would too - it's a bit of a one off so min. expenditure required.

Some good suggestions so far though :)

Good idea - much better than table covering. May have difficulty getting in the Twister colours.

I'm really interested to know what you are intending to do for the social evening as I am the Chair of my sons PFA and love hearing different ideas. Unfortunately we don't have access to the school during evenings and weekends so can't have many social events. We sometimes get together with the Junior school and use that for a joint event though.

How about Sticky Back Plastic?

How about plastic table cloths, just cut the circles out?

The event is a sponsored stay awake. You will more information about our organisation at www.lancers.co.uk. Everyone arrives at 8pm, and leaves at 8am the next morning. We are organising select activities to keep them occupied throughout the night.

Would just be too expensive IMO...

Have a word with a local carpet fitters/suppliers explain its for a charity event and the should be able to find some off-cuts of various colour carpets! Bits that otherwise would be thrown away anyway!
#12
You could try posting the same Q on your local freecyle OP

IMO carpet samples would look OK but would be no good for the actual activity as they'd slip.

chalk on the floor? would be cheap :)
#14
I think chalk may be an idea, with perhaps a cut off clear plastic wallet taped over it so that chalk doesn't go all over there hands...
#15
bit of chalk on the hands never hurt anyone lol. roughly how big diameter are we talking for each circle?
#16
How about coloured paper plates? They're quite durable, and cheap on ebay.
Hold them down with sticky-back plastic.

Now that's a good idea! Paper plates is an excellent idea.
