whoever told you that doesn't know too much about air con air con module?

there are several parts to air con in cars, one being in the dash or thereabouts, but this part rarely fails
There's an evaporator, condensor, compressor, receiver/dryer and many pipes that need special tools to fix/repair/replace

Also its an offence to knowingly release air con gas into the atmosphere which you wil do if you try anbd play with it
it needs specialist knowledge and equipement.

The best and I mean BEST option is bring the car to an air con specialist, get them to trace the leak, they inject an unltr violet dye into the air con and then see where its leaking, and then this part gets replaced.

Sometimes if your lucky its just a joint come loose, if not it can cost quite a bit to fix, its not something the average person can do at home.

This was a air con specialist, he tested the replay switch, fuses, compressor was fine but when the air con button is pressed nothing tells the air con to work, but when the replay was overidden it worked. Do you have any suggestions? thanks

if it's the actual dash bit or ecu best to get a second hand one from a breaker/ebay....you'll probably need to get your "specialist" to be a bit more specific on the faulty component

Hi, do you have any recommendations for an air con specialist at all? Need my air con sorted (it has been tested at local garage & they say it has a leak) but don't know where to take it next?! thanks

PS car is a Focus not a Freelander btw

well if they have tested it & they say it has a leak, then they should be compentent to fix it.

just as a side note. from July 04th 2010 anyone that handles refrigerant gases & buys the gas must hold an F-gas certificate by law.
