The UK Chancellor, George Osborne has announced in his autumn statement that UK Air Passenger Duty (APD) has been abolished for children over 2 and under 12, on all flights departing from UK airports from May 1 2015.

If you have already booked your holiday flights for next year via easyjet then you can apply for a refund of the tax. To do this you just need to fill in your details on the 'manage my booking' part of the website and refund will be automatically completed if you are eligible.

More details here:
http://support.easyjet.com/apd

Should be applicable for other airlines too, but just processed my details for easyjet so wanted to post so others could do it as well!

Well it says from 1st of May 2015, so i would take that as a no.

Why children over 2? is it because they are free anyway?

Don't think Norwegian charged it originally. I've just looked at my detailed receipt and the kids tickets were around £60 cheaper

can you do this if you've booked through a 3rd party? We've been ones through On the beach.
