ALERT - UPDATE ON ASDA £5 BULMERS PEAR CIDER DEAL!!

Joshuahukd Avatar
7y, 4m agoPosted 7 years, 4 months ago
It seems that everyone who ordered off the website for delivery on Monday onwards will have to pay FULL PRICE if they want to receive their cider!

This is because "the offer was only until Sunday". Even though I completed the transaction on Sunday?!

Does anyone know where I stand legally?

i ordered online saturday - received order yesterday - they had charged me full price £13.48!!

i rung customer service - they confirmed it was £5 - and was stores responsibility - rung store

spoke to home delivery manager - he apologised and instead of waiting 7 - 10 days for refund - i went down last night and got refund plus £10 for my troubles

whether i was just lucky - dont know

but if you ordered on sunday when they were £5 - thats the price you should get them

you do same

no rappy - f bob is right - you dont get billed until delivery driver gets back to store and confirms delivery - guy told me this yesterday

which ****** me off really - as they could do refunds etc - then instead of having to wait - mmm - methinks an email off to asda regards this:thumbsup:

when you click ok and it says order confermed print the page with the date thus giving you proof you confermed the order on that day
incidently isnt the contract of sale agreed then or when the payment goes out your bank?
#8
This is a joke!!

What should I say to convince them that they have to honour their offer and sell them to me at £5?
#9
I bet they cover themselves with small print - what a sight that would be!

at the time you ordered it they where £5 did a warning flash up to say that the price would increase because of your delivery day if not thats would be your way in

Thought it was normal that price offers are only valid up until date of delivery.

Just spoke to them and I mentioned that I was made aware of the deal from a website and that other members were experiencing the same problem and that their ASDA store has set a precedence by honouring to carry through the offer.

She refered back to her advisor and has decided to honour the original offer.

However, the purchase will go through at the current full price and I will need to get a refund.

Hope this helps everyone in getting their order for the correct price.

Although you don't pay immediately, where they say you get charged once they've delivered is wrong. I ordered for a wednesday morning and had to go to an emergency doc's appointment (time slot was 10-12 and I rang them at 8am to let them know) Anyway, they said I wouldn't be charged anything etc etc, and I phoned the bank later on to release the funds as I was broke and had no food in, anyway long story short, Asda still took out the money and I ended up with 2 bank charges, a normal bounced £35 charge and a charge for going over my overdraft! That was back in december, and Asda are still messing around and not paying the charge when they said they wouldn't be taking the money.

Asda = Lying Scum!

They tried to do me instore with one of the 3 for £3 offers - said that one of the items wasn't in the offer, even though it had the 3 for £3 shelf edge. I tore the young manager to shreds, and had the customers who saw what I did applaud me.
That was in the Oldbury store - very bad customer service!

It is standard practice for the supermarkets to charge the price that the product costs on the day of delivery and it makes sense.

With Tesco you can order for at least 3 weeks in advance (I think), so if I saw that an offer was finishing, should they let me place an order for 3 weeks later and charge me the offer price?
#18
Oh and I'm only getting 6 of the 10 packs ordered due to it being out of stock?!

Sounds funny to me as they should have enough in stock to satisfy my order...

That is a fair point.

The thing that annoys me is that this wasn't clearly stated upon purchase.

Yes it should have been, I haven't usea Asda online for well over a year so can't remember how they work, but on Tesco you get a warning message when you checkout that the price will be more

It would have been in the terms and conditions that you agree to when placing the order (the little box that you tick, that no one ever clicks on the link to read :))

Here's what's stated on the 'Order summary - please confirm your order' page:

"Please note that these prices are for guidance only. You will be charged the in-store price of all available items on the day they are delivered."

Just goes to show that you should always read everything and take nothing for granted.

Good luck with getting any refund from Asda very quickly, I was overcharged a few weeks back on a 3 bottles of wine for £10 offer (because the ones I ordered were out of stock, they took it upon thereselves to pick 3 wines that were not in the promotion), all in all it took 2 and half weeks, several phone calls and an e-mail to hq to get it sorted. Very poor for the "cheapest supermarket" in UK. Consequently I now shop at Morrisons.

I had the same problem with Tesco.

I saw they had an offer for Walkers Sensation crisps 3 for £3. Went to the till with 3 Thai Sweet Chillis to scan and it came out full price, the guy said it was only for Cheese & Onion flavour! Wtf? The deal never said it was only for one flavour. You can guess where I told them to shove the crisps afterwards.

it makes a difference the way you talk to them - yesterday when i rang - supervisor answered and i could tell she was really busy - so i just gave name - order no. tel no, and said go have a coffee and a smoke ring me back - she laughed and said ok - 5 mins later she rung - sorted - thats when i asked for instant refund - plus can i have something for my trouble = I ASKED - nicely - no problem!!

i find tesco worse where i am - usually get an audience - and 3 managers!! -

have taken camera over hidden prices - asked permission to take photo so i could inform trading standards - i did get a refund !!!

That it does.

Seems alot of us have overlooked this.

Nice of ASDA to offer me them at the discounted price.

Just received delivery of 6 packs for £5 each + £3.50 delivery.

Also received a phone call informing me that £84.38 will go out of my account and £50.88 will be refunded instantly.

I'm happy with that :).

Hope everyones deliveries go as well..

There is a simple solution to this, CHECK EXPIRY DATE DOES NOT EXCEED YOUR DELIVERY DATE!!!!!

Learn to read and stop moaning when YOU nack up!

I'm in the same boat ordered 5 packs sunday, for delivery thursday. Just spoke to someone on the phone, she told me if there was no promotional offer end date, (which she confirms there wasn't ) they will charge the full new price and refund the difference once the goods are recieved.
