Seen that before, quite funny but that was activated and obviously was having trouble understanding the child.
Mine is just spouting stuff when not activated by command.

How long before it gets cited in divorce proceedings, like friends reunited!
#4
mine does the same occasionally. I think it must hear Alexa and respond to whatever is said

It's constantly listening and recording speech. Who actually knows what it's actually doing... I wouldn't have one if they were paying me

I bet alexa isn't the only thing in our houses listening and watch us. But I'll be honest if that's what they want to do the conversation between me and the wife is pretty boring at times.

Worth watching. Live-in Nanny welcomed into the family home before taking over in a rather sinister manner. It was just a story though - unlikely to happen in real life....... I'm sure. oO

I just heard that amongst the list of things the FBI can tap , one of them was a certain Samsung TV.

Paranoid much? Like your life is so interesting that you are worried about people listening in!

Why would a computer need to be interested? Stop being a weirdo. They don't have likes and feelings (yet).

You can see what activated it in your account settings on the alexa app, you can play back the audio recordings and see why it thought it heard alexa

Not paranoid. Just fully understand the power of customer profiling. Targeted marketing is how companies increase their marketing efficiency and therefore sales, Alexa only has to listen out for key words which are processed automatically. I'm not concerned about the CIA tapping my house but I am concerned about companies having very detailed profiles about my life which they are potentially able to sell to a 3rd party without my authorisation. Have you seen minority report? We are on the cusp of that kind of advertising being possible.

Because I don't want companies to know all about me. My lifestyle, health, views, political ideologies. Because this information can be used against you. Perfect example health insurance. Mortgages etc. Why should someone pay more or be declined over information that should be private. It won't be long before companies use this information to increase premiums or refuse a service because it holds either correct or incorrect information about a consumer. My life is my own business.

And best case you get far more annoying telephone calls trying to sell you **** because a device has determined you are interested in something because it hears you talking about it. I get enough of that already thanks
