Not really a deal but worth telling everyone, hot

this all kicked off around august/september when most 3 users were advised about a change in T & Cs...there's been a few threads already both here and on MSE....you only had (afaik) a certain length of time from receiving notification that you wanted to cancel.

Would be interested to find out the dates of new contracts this applies to....e.g. contracts taken out in Feb of 2008....that would affect me personally

no torby this is for grandfathered plans ( upgrades usually ) ie.... NON mix n match customers who recieved NO notice of such changes

Ive been with 3 for a few years now, I haven't seen anything about the change in billing.

Any chance of a simple breakdown of what they have done and how we have the option to opt out of our current contracts? Having never done anything like this before what do you do if you want to opt out and retain your number?

The wife had a brand new contract with three, but ive seen nothing about the changes on the mix and match plans, but they have just changed us to paperless billing, that maight have been their ploy to get it under the radar.

If you can fill any blanks it would be appreciated.

As it says below they will bill you for every second after the first minute, no big deal really, alot of phone contracts are like that, whats 1 minute.
15. Charging/Billing
Pay Monthly – All calls made by pay monthly
customers, (except calls to short code or
premium rate numbers) are initially rounded
to the first minute and are billed per second
thereafter. After the first minute for pay
monthly customers calls are charged by the
second, except some roaming calls (Calls made
from abroad), Directory Service and Special
Calls. The call duration will be mathematically
rounded to the nearest second.
Pay As You Go – For Pay As You Go
customers, all calls made (except calls to
short code or premium rate numbers), are
rounded up to the nearest minute and are
charged by the minute.
All Customers – Individual events are
charged excluding VAT and are mathematically
rounded to one tenth of a penny.
VAT is then calculated on the total of all
charges that are VAT applicable, and these
total charges are then mathematically
rounded to the nearest penny.

i knew about this, they have been sending info through the post (i think) but it may have been an sms that i saw. great for those who upgraded and want to cancel or get a new contract, phone + quidco.

however beware.. make sure you have a deal you want to go to thats better than you are on

i'm still on £15 per/month and get
300 x-net mins
1000 x-net texts
50 video mins
50 x-net mms

is there anything that can compete with that?

What have they done and who can cancel.....ie whats all this talk about grandfathering mean??

I have just rang 3 and they said info was sent via text and billing, also that it does state in there T&C that they have the right to change the terms when the want, so what do I do now as 3 are an absolute pain in the A***, thanks
#16
I did not receive a letter from 3 and I dont use my 2x3 contracts, hence didnt get a text message. Just called them and they basically told me that the offer to cancel expired end of september and there was nothing I could do. So I guess this boat sailed a long time ago!

not all 3 customers got sent/text info

3did not notify you the to your detriment the change, you will burn your mins alot quicker & that means you will use your plan beyond included allowance, they need to inform you via thier own T&C of such a change in writing via thier own T&C

forget the 3 India monkeys reading scipts ( they are employed by 3's parent company Hutchison )

write full cancellation & send to 3's registered office & Executive office ( recorded/registered delivery )
