feedback's fair as the person is still giving/getting.

the transfer of funds is irrelevant imo.

im all for one for freebees but it's sorta getting out of control, Even though iv participated in doing so it's causing insane bumping and all sale threads are getting off main page, i think there should be a limit of people to be entitled to be entered into each freebee? Anyone agree?

also feedback i think is fair since the person is giving out of goodwill

Shouldnt be a limit but i think there should be a post limit like 100 posts or summit and be a member for more then 2 or 3 month?

But i dont think there should be feedback for the freebies.

No feedback or rep its just like the congrats posts a way of getting rep. Whats the big thing about rep ?

One or two items isn't bad but when someone is giving away 20 / 30 + items of basically no value they have a golden opportunity to build up a very good feedback profile at little cost to themselves then they can go and con an unsuspecting trader who was misled by their feedback

I have given things away for free on here but I have never created a thread for them in the FS FT section, only replied to a FS FT thread where I have an item they are after of which is no value to me

they are still agreeing to give something and send it so i think feedback stands.

We're going to be moving these threads into the misc section from now on.
Rep can be given if you want, but FS Feedback is reserved for the FS forum only.

Hmm. I tried to give away a decent computer desk in there a while back! Would a nominal fee of 1p have been ok?

Seems a bit harsh when for giving a fellow member something of value and simply helping someone out!

Trouble is Guv, we could have one member giveaway 7 or 8 low value items.. that's all very good but they then have +8 FS Feedback and will seem to be a trusted member. It's just to avoid people taking advantage.

Minimum post count would be pointless as you can build that up in a couple of hours on the name game, or the other games that are in misc, freebies however should not merit feedback as I could easily aqcuire a couple of dozen dvd's/cd's for peanuts and post them out for next to nothing to build up rampant feedback before scamming somebody with the promised sale of a phone/laptop/console etc.

i.e. I could pull of a long fraud for an outlay of less than £20 to make £300 - 400

As I said in the other thread, there's not going to be a definitive rule regarding post count. It's entirely up to the OP if they want to put restrictions on who can place their name on the list :)

juliet - what about the "winner"?

if they pay postage, a financial transaction has still taken place and therefore feedback should still be given. Technically, the "buyer" has still sent money as payment for goods.

Hmmm. OK.

You will appreciate, I was just pointing something out. Don't really care either way if I'm honest. But was being truthful...... http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/202511/computer-desk-free/?p=2358550#post2358550

Well, no.. the "seller" could be offering 3 or 4 items which may not be worth anything much at all.
This equates to 4 positive FS feedbacks on their account, which in turn "buys" the trust of forum members.

fair enough, but you're then implying that selling (e.g) a £100 item is somehow more worthy than an (again e.g) £10 item, yet the feedback score will remain the same.
Where do you draw the line?
