Im about to buy a Mac Mini, however i need a good monitor to go with it. Just looking at the prices of the Apple Displays, but there way over my budget and might be cheaper to get the iMac lol.

Im after a 20" monitor. Could anyone reccommend a cheaper alternative to the apple display, i have about £200 to spend.

Cheers!

Lol the new iMac is like £1000, it is a lovely piece of kit but out of my price range :(

Is that dell anygood? I heard IPS monitors are the ones to go for.

If your planning on doing any graphic work you need an ips, I use a 27" imac and its stunning quality, at work we have some of the dell ones at work that rotate between portrait and landscape and the colour representation is horrific, whites look pink etc.

save up and get an imac you wont regret it.

Also worth noting if you do get a mac mini you can output it to 2 monitors via the mini dvi and apple display ports, which you can span to create one giant monitor or have 2 monitors displaying the same image. I use one for my media centre and its the nuts running plex.

And out come the fanboys, if your Dell IPS monitor has the colours wrong then you have set it up wrong.

I didn't say it was a dell ips. please read before jumping down peoples throats.

my point was if you want do graphics you would want an ips screen, i never said mac screens are the best as they clearly aren't.

I apologise if I wasn't descriptive enough in my previous post,

I take offense at being called a fanboy for having a computer that is the best thing I can get for the job that I do. I can say this with absolutely no bias having done the same job for 7 years previously with top of the range pc's.

I am pro LED mind as I have a normal 2 year old Hazro IPS LCD beside my Samsung LED TV which i prefer over the hazro

IPS panels are the ones the iMac uses, there's an IPS dell in deals for just under £200 in deals atm.

Yep, this one here:

This is not true as the Imac makes concessions to save space and also uses a glossy panel. The standalone versions of the Imac screens (such as the Dell U2711) have a better colour gamut, a matte finish and a wide range of inputs.
