Am I going to like PS Move if I don't like the Wii?

I have ordered Move and an extra wand for the wife but am seriously considering cancelling my order.

Bascially since ordering it I got a Wii for my wife who wanted the Wii Fit which is great no problems there, and we both enjoy occasionally playing House Of The Dead, Wii Sports and the Raving Rabbids games....but thats about it, I've tried some of the more "grown up" games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles (my 2 favourite franchises) and to be honest I just wish I could play the damn things using a proper controller and not a wiimote!!

So I'm wondering if Move is really for me? Has anyone heard anything to suggest this will be better then playing on the Wii? (Gameplay wise NOT graphiclly)
Are those who are getting Move currently Wii players?

Dunno, I cant get on with the wii controller, it just doesnt feel right/accurate. Hopefully the move will be better & have more adult hardcore games.

As it seems like you also own a PS3 as well as the Wii the best way to look at it is -

If you could get an adaptor to make your Wii controllers work on the PS3 would you want to do that ?

If the answer is No then Move is probably going to be a waste of money in your case.

Here is a home review of someone actually using the Move controller and software in their home -

Judging by the list of incoming games it will be a more hardcore experience, with fps and fighting games plus echochrome 2 looks really good.

Kinect is what you want - don't have to hold any daft stuff in your hand. :)

Wouldn't you just be better off buying something like this Wii gamepad ? (a proper controller)

Same old topics. Get Kinect it is better, no Move is better, no Wii is better.
See the numerous posts about this... http://www.hotukdeals.com/search?action=search&keywords=move&category=0&type=7&date_range=&sort_type=relevancy

My advice is try it and decide for yourself.
Or get the one for the platform that you have the games that interest you.

I wasn't stating that any were better. He clearly prefers a traditional pad like most people do, just seems pointless him buying it if he's not sure about move?

I agree with you that you should try it and make his own decision, I think waiting a little while until more games are available then buying it a launch is best way to go.

Retract my statement about Kinect seemingly there is no voice control with it at launch . . . oh Microsoft what will we do withyou,.

I look at it like this - whenever I played the Wii I never once thought "this would be good if it was more accurate, less laggy etc". I just thought "this is crap, I want to sit down and play a game like I have done for the last 25 years of my gaming life".

So for the above reason Move... I'm out.

They don't say anything about video/voice chat working at launch.
It appears that if you speak any language other than English you won't be able to use voice control.

Well like I say I hadn't really played on a Wii before except for a few of the sports games which I enjoyed and figured the Move would be fun for some games, but that was before I got a wii.

Thanks for reminding me I keep forgetting about those! Have ordered one through work so should be here in a couple of days!

I think I'll probably wait until launch and see what games are available and what the reviews are like, it will be interesting to see if the people who like it are the same people who like the wii or if the more "hardcore" gamers will take to it.

There also are plenty of Wii games that use the Gamecube controller i.e. Smash Bros, Mario Kart etc

I have two wavebirds for the Wii, not sure on the price of those now but I bought them for £10 each.
