can't you just post your concern in there?
[admin]#2
Have you tried contacting the seller?
#3
Yes lots - I have posted it there too but thought I might get more of a response here

The answer is you might very well have a right to be concerned. First of all, the seller didn't even post a picture of the item. When he was asked for it, he dodged it thus:

chezza109
yea ive got ebay feedback. got it in january, chipped it in may, havnt touched it in at least 2 months. i can take pix, but how much u offering just so i know its worth my while

I am always suspicious of people who dodge what should be the most obvious requirements for a sale, and I do my best to get into threads and push these requirements. I also look at their previous history, and in this case the OP has posted loads of Wanted threads in the FS/T forum but it would appear that no deals have actually been completed - well, he has zero feedback anyway, and those two just don't add up...

Maybe this is all fine and the seller is just out of contact, but I personally wouldn't have gone ahead with this purchase without more proof that the seller was genuine. Good luck - hope I'm just being overly suspicious..

I'd agree with liddle. It all just seems a touch TOO dodgy I'm afraid.
good luck, hope we're all wrong and it works out ok!
#6
oh dear. i went with my gut feeling if you like, and the ebay feedback, and the seller seemed genuine. but at best now they are being both rude and irresponsibly, at worst I may have some issues but i dont want to assume that just yet. Hopefully they are being rude and will bother to contact me and explain whats happening, i have had 2 days holiday and I cant miss tommorow as well

I certainly wouldn't have relied on a private seller over the internet to decide to take holidays, given how unreliable people are, also the item in question comes with pirate games the seller perhaps has questionable morals and given his general manner in the thread I certainly wouldn't have traded with him.

I presume you checked it was actually his eBay account by sending a message through eBay and getting a reply?

Yes I know I have been a little silly, I should have been more cynical. even now I feel bad for thinking something might be amiss

yes did that check at least!
#11
having looked at the thread it looks very dodgy but i really do hope its just a misunderstanding and you do get your stuff
#12

what's his ebay username so we can have a look - if it's a decent account, you might not have as much to worry about, and anyway the more info you have about the seller made 'public' the more pressure for them to complete the deal -- maybe
#13
jamesalexandercarmichael over 200 posititve no negs etc seemed superb
#14
the seller has just contacted me and replied in the thread, he/she says the PO messed up and sent it standard parcels with added insurance. That would explain why they have ignored my requests for a tracking number, and also explain why the item has not yet arrived
#15
this arrived on friday just before I was leaving for a weekend away, had a chance this morning to have a look and there are a few issues 9M'ed this to OP but no response as yet, OP has be on here since though)

1 - there is no normal tv leads/scart? description said normal scart included too
2 - every third time or so it seems to have problems reading the discs, is this something I am doing or what?
3 - coloums is missing, sonic 2 and ecco are on the memory card but it wont let me copy them to the console?

Hopefully posting here will get the OP's attention. Just to add, the cosmetic condition of the console was described as excellent, i'd say its way off that

Please OP, you have messed me about enough, and cost me lots of money on lost holidays etc not to mention the worry that we had been ripped off, please do the decent thing and reply to my queries - I have been very patient and polite throughout this transaction - otherwise I'll be contacting my credit card company.

raise a paypal dispute. that will get their attention.
#17
they still shouldn't be ignoring your emails though
#18
delving through the OP's history on here it appears that they knew about the disc reading error problem - I think its disgraceful that they never told me about it as it clearly affects the value of the item etc.

" about 20% of the time it says the disc couldnt be read, its just a matter of ejecting and putting back in and it works. it has never taken more than 3 attempts and it usually works first time...."
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/175245/wanted-chip-my-wii/showthread.php?t=175245&page=2

I'll await a response from the OP, being polite and thinking the best of people usually gets me quite far so I'd like to give it a little bit of time!

As this sale has not been completed following the full FS/FT rules and advice, I'd say this is a private matter now, however you're quite happy to make it public. Cut out the emotional stuff re lost holidays, thats a red herring and compounds how naive you have been. You threaten to report to your credit card company - go ahead. Tell them you've been defrauded attempting to purchase an item for which the primary aim is to defraud others revenues to which they are entitled.

You've got your item, try to resolve with your seller direct, leaving appropriate feedback on your reflection of the sale.

Looking through some of your posts

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/188201/for-sale-nintendo-wii-boxed-with-sp/

You're hardly the perfect example of a good seller with your thread resulting in a lock.

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/200382/wanted-modded-wii/

So basically you sell a wii as hardly used, then only a couple of weeks later you want one for your wife. I know we all can change our minds, but you post confilcting information that would lead me to distrust your motives.

Anyway, good luck with your issues, as an experienced trader on other forums, you really should know better.

Thank you for taking the time to reply and offer your opinion, its greatly appreciated and exactly the reason i decided to post on here about whats happening (along with the fact the seller has hardly been forthcoming with private replies to my queries). I'd like to respond to a couple of your points though; Firstly, us deciding to buy a wii again after selling one recently. what does that have to do with the seller in this case? and how can that question my motives, I am confused by what you mean, perhaps you could elaborate? We sold our wii, my wife became aware of wii fit and asked me if we could get another - honestly, i fail to see what I/we have done wrong here, even more so in relevence to this issue.

Secondly, the FS thread you linked too was a genuine mistake on my part, no-one bought the item, no-one was left for days not knowing what was happening, the comparisiion is ludicrous to be honest - how can you equate the two? and does me neglecting to read a rule equal a seller failing to do as they have said they would? I had the item for sale on another forum and while i accept this was against the rules and I should not have done it, my mistake was genuine and did not result in anybody else being treated like I have been treated.

You make very little comment on the seller, you seem to have an interest in whats happening as you have gone out of your way to post negetively about me, even making obviously flawed attacks (private matter made public - it would of remained a private matter had the seller contacted me) may i ask waht you think of the sellers actions? or do you feel the seller has acted perfectly fine, and its entirely my fault for as you put it naively thinking that the seller might actually do as they say and sedn to me what i have agreed to buy? perhaos by not asking for pictures, it is therefore entirely my fault and I should accept quitely whatever actions the seller does or does not do?

as regard to my threat about my credit card company, and your response to it, I still hope that the seller will respond to me and we can sort it out, if not i will contact my credit card company over my purchase of an item that I am legally allowed to buy. But as i say, i hope that will be avoided because, naive as I may be, i still hope the seller will do the decent thing

Locking this up- You need to sort this dispute with your trade partner.

Hopefully you acquired a secondary method of contact if you were following FS forum guidelines.

HUKDs mod team cannot intervene in these cases which is why we advise everyone to adhere to the guidelines , they're there to help protect buyers and sellers. :)
