Bought my daughter a couple of books from amazon on saturday, they came to over 5 quid so got free delivery on them.
The postman tried to deliver them today but i was at work so he put 2 grey cards through my door telling me the sender hadnt paid the correct postage and i would have to pay 30p per item plus a £1 handling fee per item, so now my 'Super Saver Free Delivery' is effectively costing me £2.60 postage!

Should i complain to them or is there no point in complaining and just forget about it?

i would assume so. i would also scan in the grey cards aswell as extra evidence
#7
get on the phone or email amazon and find out what they say before you go and pay the extra postage.
#8
a quick email and they will refund without any questions I would have thought. A simple error on their part, and they are good at rectifying mistakes.

Does it mention it being from Amazon?

grey cards are posted through the letter box when there is not enough postage on the item, red cards are left when item is recorded too big for letterbox etc etc
#17

Get the parcels and find out :P
I would still scan the cards in for records.

Were the books from amazon or an affiliate marketplace trader?

I'd agree with others, either scan or photocopy the cards before you go as when I had one recently that didn't have enough postage they kept the card & when I asked for it back he said he needed to keep it & that there was a sticker on the envelope.

ok phoned up and got the £2.60 credited to my Amazon account without any argument or hassle! Wish i had said it was costing me £10 to getn the books now!

red cards are for non delivery of item.to large for letterbox etc
grey cards are for underpaid postage/surcharges and are sent out from callers office via postpersons
