Amazon - Express Delivery - Anyone else been let down??

I ordered 2 items from Amazon on Sat 22nd and paid for Express Delivery by Royal Mail Special Delivery service. Both items were guaranteed for delivery today (27th December). One item was coming from Amazons Glasgow warehouse, the other from their Milton Keynes warehouse. Neither have arrived, and Royal Mail tell me they are still in their Glasgow sorting office and Milton Keynes sorting office. As these are the 2 main Amazon warehouses, I'd hazard a guess and say that this failure to deliver affects a lot of other Amazon customers who opted & paid for Special Delivery. Having already lost one major contract with Amazon, Royal Mail now seem determined to jeopardise their Express Delivery contract too!! I'd really like to hear from anyone else experiencing the same problem.

if it hasnt arrived by today send an email to amazon telling them you paid for express delivery and you want refunding, as it wasnt delivered on stated date, you should get a refund for postage

I also paid for express delivery. However, Amazon themselves e-mailed me (sent on Christmas day) to say that the item would not arrive today. They also refunded my postage.

Thanks. I didn't get an e-mail from Amazon, but Royal Mail website said they received both items on the 24th and expected to deliver today before 1pm. According to their customer services though, both items are either still in Glasgow and Milton Keynes, or in transit. That means they don't have a clue where they are because the staff at Royal Mail aren't scanning the items in and out. Apparently, that's because it is too time consuming for them to do at their busiest time of the year!! Basically it means the tracking system info is garbage, and I'll have to stay in and wait for them to deliver (hopefully) tomorrow. It also means Amazon are having to refund postage, claim it back from Royal Mail, and they are having to deliver items free. What a way to run a business eh!!

I have 4 items still waiting to be delivered by Amazon. Said they're be here by the 24th and still no sigh. Pathetic service.

Yes, I paid for express delivery, guaranteed to be delivered by 1pm last Friday. Goods were not here by 1pm so I emailed Amazon and had my delivery charge refunded. Package arrived via Royal Mail at 1.45. I was lucky as I'd ordered them as presents but will order in plenty of time next year. m Anyway, make sure you email Amazon and get your postage refunded!

I've had no problems with Amazon Express Deliver.
Promised to deliver by Sat 23rd and City Link woke me up at 7.40am on the 23rd with my parcel :)

I didn't pay for express, was just on super saver, but something I ordered on the 15th that was meant to be here by the 23rd still didn't arrive. It's made me lose all faith I had in Amazon, they were about the only online site left that I fully 'trusted'.

Amazon cancelled my girlfriends DS order a handful of days before Christmas. I used to like Amazon, now they are never going to receive my customer unless there price is significantly cheaper.

phone them up using there ring back service on there website.
Happened to me once they refunded me the p&P and i got it delivered the day after
so 2 day service for free :) not bad!

Thanks all. I don't think any of this is Amazon's fault, only in as much as they continue to use that utter bunch of t**sers at Royal Mail. I hope they drop them altogether in favour of City Link or other couriers. What I'd really like to see is a free Amazon Prime option for regular customers, a free express delivery service for orders of more than say £70, and Royal Mail left to count the cost.

I wouldn't sing City Links praises, I ordered a television from Amazon using express delivery and have just phoned them as it hasn't arrived. Amazon contacted City Link whilst I was on the phone. City Link told them that the tracking information that is online is incorrect because they have used a recycled number (or something like that) and that they didn't know where the television is. Amazon's response was to tell me to wait in tommorow and that they will refund the postage, obviously I don't have a life and don't mind staying indoors during my time off! Not impressed with the service

I had an Amazon prime order that was supposed to arrive yesterday via Royal Mail come today instead. I don't really think its Amazon fault it's more about the postal backlog due to the weather and time of year.

My last three (and only) deliveries on Express from Amazon have not only failed to arrive by the "guaranteed" time but have taken a week to arrive on avarage. Things ordered at the same time also supplied by Amazon using free delivery arrived faster even in the snow of last December. Amazon refunds the delivery charge as soon as I say it hasn't turned up. Not much use when you need the goods urgently. Royal Mail much more relaiable on the fist class post option.
