After weeks and weeks of being out of stock, the latest amazon kindle which is the No.1 best selling item on amazon is showing in stock on the amazon website.

Now would be a good time to buy before it goes out of stock again.

I don't get these things there a complete waste of money? Seems an expensive book.

same here, whats wrong with just buying ordinary books!!!

I don't understand why they did not include the ePub format. I have hundreds of these, so would have bought a Kindle if it used ePub.

once you've spent some time with a decent e-reader you will never go back

i have about 200 titles on my reader, some of which were free which i found on different websites - so it is a great way to find new and aspiring authors who want to promote their work, or even established authors who want to give a little back.

i am chuffed with my e-reader - it isn't a kindle, though these seem to be extremely well spec'd for the money.

you want to take 10 books on holiday = lots of space.

Kindle = 1 item you have to pack.

save environment less paper used etc blah blah

pred - use calibre to convert titles in a few seconds to whatever format you like.

I have created my own books from web pages. I would have spent several hundreds of pounds if I had bought paper ones.

That's how I created the ePubs - not going through all that again :)
#9
nah - it's a doddle, just set up a new custom option to convert them to pdf's or whatever.

I dont take books on hol lol
by the time u pay for one of these things u could of brought all the books
and saving the enviroment, what about the extra electricity u use to charge up one of these things!!! lol
#13
the charge would be like running a light bulb for a few hours.

it seems you have massively missed the point.

I love reading, and have loads of books stacked everywhere, because you never know when i might want to read it again, forget the money this will save me soooo much space!
#15
Havent missed the point, just think it takes the meaning out of the word book!!!! its yet another gadget for lazy consumers that will prob stop working after a couple of years forcing u to buy another!! i have better things to spend £150 on, and wen i want a "book" ill but one from a shop for a fiver!! lol
#16
can you swap books at all. I dont think you can with the kindle. I read there was one US online shop cant remember its name who were thinking of letting you pass the book on to two or three other friends. Not sure if that happened or not.

What happens if people want to go travelling? is it not easier to have a device where you can get the travel guide in the country your in and have ones for other countries you will go to on one device rather than having a suitcase of books?

Exactly, they would make no money off of you. They price the kindle close to cost so that they can make money off the amazon ebooks.
