Amazon Marketplace Help

Hoping someone here can give me some advice!

Sold an MP3 player through the Amazon Marketplace on Saturday. Payment went through and I posted it yesterday.

This morning I received this email:

'This is a wrong order. I have NOT ordered this item nor any other items. I hope that my credit card has not been debited, if so please cancel this. How did you get my details? I am very concerned about this and will report it to Amazon.
The item has arrived at my house - please tell me how to return it.'

I am waiting for a response from Amazon but wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation? Trying not to get scammed...

well i hope you sent it recorded delivery, because amazon is quick on refunding the customers.

i have had parcels been received only 2 days late, and the claim has been opened, amazon refund them straight away.

Difficult to say what's happened here, but it smells of fraud. Possibly the 'buyer' is genuine and had his card number stolen (though usually - obviously - that involves the goods going to another address). Or perhaps the 'buyer' is just trying to back out of the transaction? Best let Amazon sort it out, but make sure you keep the evidence of posting.

Thanks for the advice. I did send it recorded, the problem isn't about not receiving the item but that they (apparently) didn't order it.

Amazon have said that the order was legitimate and the only thing I can do now is to ask them to send it back and refund on receipt.

Do exactly that, tell them they need to return it in the same condition it was sent, and that they wont get a refund until you have received and checked the item.
They'll probably claim to have sent it and ask for a refund before it has arrived, and possibly even give you a fake recorded delivery reference, but don't budge an inch, don't refund until you have the item back.
Sounds like they are trying to scam you, but even if they weren't, it's not your fault they weren't secure in keeping their paypal/card details private.

Keep us posted please, so others can learn thanks.

First Ebay scammers, now Amazon has fallen prey to them, as I definitely think the buyer is scamming you. I hope you get it sorted OP. Good luck. :)
