Has anybody used Amazon Prime before?

I started using the 30 day free trial and ordered a game off there yesterday and was supposed to be delivered via One day delivery today but the postmans been and nothing for me!!! lol.

Not that fussed if it comes monday though, just wondering weather the postman delivers it or weather it gets delivered via a van or something, like something I ordered through a private seller the other day?

But if I'd paid £49 for the year to use this service I'd be pretty peed off.

Same As , been waiting 5 days now. Bit of a joke really. Glad it's a trial. I won't be paying for it that's for sure

I know sometimes that even with Royal Mail, if it is a package to big to carry about they will send it out with a delivery van. In my area they usually deliver in the afternoon. So you might still get it today.

It should be a van, but unless its from Amazon warehouse itself (private seller), chances are it won't be here today.

I will not be paying £49 a year to not get things in time.

but also hoping that it may come this afternoon as dungavel said but I won't get my hopes up though because I know how unreliable Royal Mail are, and seem to be getting worse round my way.

Its not private seller its direct from Amazon so hopefully as you say it'll come this afternoon.

I think it will come today. Been prime customer for a few days and it's been great considering where I live. It has been a disappointment over this Christmas though, with others in my office receiving super saver delivery items before me. One guy bought a book for £1.39 and amazon sent it special delivery at a cost of £7 to get it here for Christmas, and he chose super saver

I ordered a camping dual air bed just after xmas, and it offered 1 day delivery for free, ordered 3pm and the next morning 11am it came

See my thread on MSE , they have been semding Prime items just 1st class post recently, been using Prime for 3+years its always come via City Link Or Special Del.

Items ive ordered are taking weeks to arrive now and loads of people having same problem

i have a thread made recently. its city links problem. have you tried to contact them. i am betting you have and you cant get through. city link is no good and letting amazon down heaps

My wife took this out a couple of years ago whilst she was doing her degree. After two months she got a refund as about 2 books she ordered out of 12 arrived next day. Rubbish service

In all fairness I don't blame Amazon for the delay its the postal service but I think Amazon should be doing more to make sure their customers receive things on time.

When you email Amazon they reply pretty quick but all you seem to ever get is " please wait until this date for the item and then contact us again if it still hasn't arrived"

Not good enough really especially if people are paying £49 a year for Prime and one day delivery.
And I'd be even more annoyed if I'd paid a one off fee for express delivery or evening delivery and it not arriving.

They should be doing more to make sure royal mail and city link and so on are providing a better service.

I've had the same problem orderd about 8 things from them since xmas, two came from city link and both where on time with the option to track, but all the rest are came from royal mail and every one has been at least two days. I do think Amazon are at fault because if they are taking people's money to offer a service they shouldn't be cutting corners and trying to save themselves a few quid. They have chosen to use royal mail as a main provider for the time being it seems, and they dont even senf it via special delivery, just bog-standard first-class, so even royal mail don't expect it to be there guaranteed in 24 hours.

Being slated on the amazon forums at the moment for using royal mail now.

With the trial as well, you can ring them up and ask them to click the "do not automatically upgrade" button, that way you can use the trial without worrying about them taking the money after a month.

Also I think the problems are with RM at the minute, although I'm aware you are taking the prime trial with Amazon and not RM before someone says that
