Sorry mate, don't know. It's a real shame as it was one of the main reasons to buy from Amazon as others said in that thread. :-(

Just email and say that the price has dropped to £XXX since you placed your order X amount of days ago and you would like to claim the difference back under their price dop guarantee. They will either give you your money back or say they have stopped the guarantee as suggested but the other post. I hope they havent stopped it, ive got loads of money back from them and always buy from amazon because of the promise. Good luck x

If they don't give you difference back just return it and put the reason why you sent it back!

It'll cost money to send it back though, probably won't be any better off especially with the hassle of doing so.

I've just emailed for a refund of a couple of quid on a DVD I bought at the end of August and got a reply along the lines of they don't have a policy to refund, rather than the usual quite helpful polite one I've had in the past.

Here's a copy: (I really hate "Dear Customer", so impersonal)

Dear Customer,

Thanks for writing to us about the recent price change on ************* I recognise you have a choice of retailers and appreciate that you prefer to order from us. Please note that we do not extend a post-order price guarantee.

I've reviewed your order and see that the price change was significant and you just received this item from us. Under the circumstances, I'll make a one-time exception for you and issue a refund for the price difference in the amount of £*.**.

Please understand that I'm issuing this refund because of the exceptional circumstances, and I'm doing this for you against our standard policy.

****WHY DON'T YOU HAVE A PRICE GUARANTEE?****

While we don't always beat the best available price on every product, we do offer deep discounts on many thousands of items. From time to time, prices on some items will change due to special offers from suppliers and manufacturers or our inventory and sales volumes. When we can offer a lower price for new purchases we will, but we cannot extend these discounts to completed orders.

Thanks for shopping at Amazon.co.uk. We look forward to your next visit.

Please let us know if this e-mail answered your question:

----

If this was purely down to them stopping it from the 1st of September, and mine was ordered in August and within 30 days, why not just say that rather than the "we don't, but we will just this once".

I really like Amazon, and like others this was one of the main reasons I shopped with them.
