have they paid?
you can always revert to the sale description if they kick off after receiving it !

a "friend" sells items that are listed as "untested" when he knows full well they don't work, but people buy them for spares/repairs etc..

You have sold something.
You have waited a week to send it, but you still haven't done so.

Please don't let me buy anything from you. :x

No they havent been charged for it until i confirm it and process the order
#4
Have they paid? If so that indicates that they want it imo.

Then process it, if they want it they will pay for it :?

Im having doubts because someone bought it and then i asked if they could confirm they read the description and was told that they appreciated my honesty and that they would like to cancel soo....
#7
i would imagine they want the order unless it was done at 3am when the buyer was probably pi$$ed.. process and see what if they pay for it...
you ain't gonna lose out.. they pay or they don't...

I hate "friends" like yours. But if people don't realise that "untested" really means "it's a pile of crap and if you buy it, more fool you" then what are we supposed to do?

I really hope your "friend" doesn't try and sell his stuff on here.

but what if they recieve it and havent read the description then file a claim with amazon saying it doesnt work ?
#10
by "friend" i really do not mean me!!! ... he is a work colleaue who sells computer parts.

If your sale description clearly states it doesn't work then they don't have a case to argue !

Supposing they bought a tent off you and what you were selling, and described, was a fireplace?

What would happen then?

Then put a note on the invoice if you can, if you stated it on the sale page and have emailed them twice they have no excuse not to be aware of the fault. It was probably reflected in the price as well. However, if a week has passed since the buyer purchased the item and has not had the ability to pay for that time due to lack of invoice I wouldn't be surprised if they have got another from elsewhere, it's a long time within the electronics market, people are used to things moving so swiftly.

that didn't make sense.

that didn't make sense.

What I said? I meant that after a week, as a buyer if I had not been able to pay I'd be miffed and have gone elsewhere as I'm used to paying promptly and it being delivered promptly. I have come to expect electronic items I have purchased to be delivered within a few days but other things like beauty products and clothes I expect to take a bit longer.

What is hard to understand?
You advertise and describe a fireplace.
You send them a tent, then they are perfectly within their rights to complain.

If you advertise an item as faulty, and you send them a faulty item......then what on earth is the problem?

Just send the item off.
I'd be pretty annoyed if I had to wait at least a week for my item to be sent. Faulty or not.
It is as described.......Isn't it?...:?

OP,

What are you going to do if the buyer says "Yeah, fine", then subsequently files a claim. Have you really thought this through ?

It seems to me that whilst you are being cautious, you're not really ready to sell yet and risk being labelled a poor performer right at the very start.

How much did you sell the item for, this might explain the lack of comms

I recall selling a game which usually comes packaged with a memory card, I listed the item as 'WITHOUT MEMORY CARD' After I'd sent it, a few days later, I got some neutral feedback, saying the game didn't come with the memory card :-/

How about posting the full description so we can see if you have covered yourself properly?
#21
well the full description is below but as i said before i used the same description twice before and when i asked them to confirm that they had read the description they then requested a cancellation thats why im being cautious
