Play.com by a country mile. Amazon are complete asses when it comes to returns.
Play has Quidco and codes, and are not based in Luxemburg.

Huh? amazon take pretty much owt back and sort the courier themselves. I suspect either you answered a question wrong (like "Have you thrown the item against a wall" "Yes"), or are just a bit dim.

Play.com for value for money - yup I agree.

Delivery times - you are again on cloud cuckoo land if you think play.com is faster than amazon.

I will agree with #1, play does have a better site, far easier to search and less crowded, but amazon are a lot quicker with delivery times and better on returns (play is a pain to send returns imho).

Play do have some bloody good offers, but amazon do come up and match it a lot. I do love play's £5 deals on cd's though, must have bought 50+ in last 3 years from them.

My surround sound system that i bought off them broke after about 13/14 months. They wouldn't take any responsibility and gave me the same answers every time.
I'm going to have to take them to a small claims court, but i'm very annoyed that i would have to take it that far. Whereas with other companies i can just send back the item any time and get it sorted. Even an extremely damaged DVD boxset i received from Zavvi about 2 years ago was sorted for a full refund not long ago, no questions asked.

Yeah Play always have good prices, Amazon rarely have an OMG sale.

My answer in the delivery times section was mostly in regards to the packaging and stuff. As it's always secure and reasonable with them.
But of course you can get good/bad experiences with both in that department.

I am on the fence. I use and like both
#20
Have had absolutely no problems with Amazon - ordered some real bargains on there, Play on the other hand have sent badly packaging and incorrect items with no reply to emails. AMAZON :)
#21
Play. Quidco, usually faster delivery and I prefer their website. Never had a problem, except with cancelled misprices.

Is this a joke? Amazon by 9million times. Play are absolute crap and I won't use them even if cheaper, only if I really really have to.

Also play always pull the out of stock scam.

Not a joke, read the OP, it was an article in a magazine so thought lets get views from others.

The results from a website where people use them loads, and where they do one order is different, hence the asking here. Personally I use amazon for everything cept where play have an unbeatable price.
#23
Amazon and I get my Nectar points as Quidco no longer track for me so constant reports is tiring.

I usually get my goods withing 48 hours too :)

Amazon for me.

Surely only some crazed conspiracy theorist type nut job would vote for Play...
[helper]#25
Amazon - but there is one good thing about Play....quite frequently you see Amazon dropping the price of an item to compete with Play
#26
Amazon

used to use Play alot as they were cheapest but I find now Amazon are the cheapest and we have amazon prime too
#27
Amazon :D

Not going to mention the other one. :p
#28
Play.com for me.
#29
Both sites have their pro's and con's, can't really decide between them? but if i had to then i guess amazon would win on a photo-finish.
#30
Amazon, purely preference, I've not had issue with either retailer though.
