Really? I dunno. Big Enzo and Nicky Cook fights will come on first. Then you've got 2 other undercards them.
#4
Think it's 10-10.30pm fella, the undercard fights start around 8pm.
#5
But tbh you never know they always change the times.
banned#6
It'd be after midnight

And I'm going for Khan to get schooled but don't think Barrera is a powerful boxer at that weight so prob won't knock him out

Its nothing to do with Khan being British or english

He has done nothing in the sport and thinks he is one of the worlds best. He has yet to prove himself at a decent level never mind the top and is too arrogant for where he is in his career.
#8
Says from 9pm on the PPV channel.

each to their own, but if england were playing footy in the world cup would you support mexico? :w00t:

As a member of the Tartan Army supporters club, I absolutely will support Mexico if England were playing them! :-D

Agree! Nothing to do with nationalities. Its his claim to greatness that annoys me.

There's a old saying, To achieve Greatness, one must do something great.

Beating human punchbags and shot fringe contenders and getting knocked spark out doesnt scream greatness to me.

The only person that annoys me more than Khan is James DeGale
#11
The fight is likely to be quite late, since the majority of the PPV money comes from America, so they want to accomodate them more than the home crowd.

I was actually going to go to this event for my bday.
#12
what ever time it starts it will finish about 60 seconds after it as Barrera will knock him out in seconds!
#13
Khan is attrocious, he will get spanked.

He has only ever fought 1 good fighter who destroyed him in 50 seconds.

They then dug up his last opponent to make people think he was good and the last fight was a fluke knockout.
#14
Barrera added: "It has been 10 years since I fought in England but I took this fight with a young fighter in his home town because I believe that when I beat a guy in front of his own crowd, it's a double victory for me.

I agree, give him someone who can truley say they are the best and he will get his ass handed to him on a plate

Absolutely!

Infact give him someone whos not even the best and they would still beat him!

(Am looking at you Jon Thaxton and John Murray)

I would respect Khan more if he had actually done things the right way. i.e. British, European then legitimate World title - Note the bold writing as the Frank Warren Belt....Sorry......WBO doesnt count!

You dont become a fighter and fight the best straight away PMSL. Just remember how old he is, hes got a long way yet.

Yes but he think he is the best so if he thinks that he should fight the best.

All ive seen him saying is hes getting better and better, he hasnt said hes the best.

Rootin for barrera on this one, guy is a legend. However Khan just might win this one if he sticks to his game plan, but that chin of his is terrible.

Shame about khan, he is very talented. Just has a fragile chin.

Khan would beat Thaxton and murray, who I dont think are anything special. Thaxton just lost his title, and murray struggled against mcCalister. Both of these guys loose to good boxers, khan would just out point them

can i ask where/when did he say he is the best? he might act a bit cocky but thats nothing new other boxers including the great mohammed ali acted cocky its all part of the "show"

Likening Khan to Ali in anyway is laughable

He said he will be the youngest world champion ever. This was shortly after he beat a local school teacher.

After he beat Gary St Clair, a blown up and well shot former world champion who hadnt fought at the top for many many years, he said he should be fighting among the Nate Campbells, the Diaz's, the Casamayors.

That was until he got a great big left 'reality check' to the chin against Prescott. Who's aint great shakes himself to be honest.

Thanks i knew there was something along the lines of him being the best.

I'll be in the crowd on Saturday!

Will be cheering on Barrera and i wont be bothered if it lasts 60 seconds.
#26
he is cocky, I think he tries to model himself on naseem a bit.

He's very powerful, he has possibly the fastest hands I've ever seen... but his chin is pitiful, I truly believe even I could put him on his ass given a free shot, and I'm a girl! lol

Try justin.tv pal.

Might not be the best quality but its watchable. Sometimes you can catch folk mentioning better links in the chat rooms there.

I'll be buying it as I like to watch it in good quality

lol always thought u were a bloke..

anyway... prime for prime barrerra would wipe the floor with khan... this fight depends totally on how well barerra has aged lately and how he handles the new weight division... khan is fast but not as powerfull as many think..his finishes usually come from tko's via volume punching rather than single shots , and barrera is so ring savvy that i reckon khans gonna have a hard time pinning him down and unleashing flurries without being soundly countered ( see the barrera hamed fight for his counter punch ability)

Also dont forget barrera has been in with pacman so the speed of khan aint gonna be anything new to him.

To me its a lose-lose fight for khan...if he wins people (inc me) will think its because barrera was washed up and had nothing left, if he loses...he loses to an old barerra so what chance has he got with the rest of the division (good division at the mo)...to me the khan camp have only taken this fight cos they think barrera is old and has nothing to trouble khan...khan shouted his mouth of about how he wouldnt make the same mistakes if he fought prescott again.... so why wasnt that fight made???? all talk.

My prediction if hes in shape and anywhere near his past best ...barrerra will school him for 9 rounds then Ko him.
#35
Totaly agree with you kungfu..
#36
Watch the Marquez Vs Diaz fight for a preview of what will happen on Saturday night.

I can see Khan being competitive for the first few rounds then the grand master will take over mid rounds, adjust his fight and game plan and outbox and school the young pretender.

yeah good prediction..all im hoping is its a good competitive fight... last thing i wanna see is an old out of shape washed up barrerra getting stopped by khan and then khan shouting his mouth off of how he beat a legend :x

I completely agree with all your comments Kungfu and I hate it when boxers do this because some people actually believe them.

Calzaghi for example was a great fighter but despite his record, I'll never deem him as a legend because he had plenty of opportunities to fight great opponents in there prime but decided to play it safe until he fought boxers that were too old to compete.

we will see

Im pretty sure Amir is not good enough to beat Barerra, But im happy to be proved wrong!

I hear this about Calzaghe all the time.

We don't know the facts around why he didnt get round to fighting the likes of Hopkins, Jones, Tarver, Johnson, Taylor, Winky etc. But lets not forget that the politics in boxing means that rarely will a top level fighter risk his record against a less reputable named fighter who they deem too dangerous and too risky Vs reward.

Calzaghe might have ducked them but then there is also a huge possibility that they ducked him. Think about it, why would they fight Calzaghe for £1m when they can fight each other for £4m (Rough example).

Calzaghe only became known in the US after the Hopkins fight among boxing casuals. And when he beat Hopkins, everyone wanted to fight him because at that point he brought dollars!

People keep harping on about Calzaghe should have fought those fighters in their prime but Calzaghe is also years from his prime too! The guy is 36 going on 37!

In his prime, I believe Calzaghe would be right up there with the very best, if not being the best himself! All this and with a dodgy hand all throughout his career. He is a legend in my eyes.
