Biast commentary, but seems suprising they would chuck him for this.

what a joke!

refreshing response

Would people be saying this was an over reaction if he had made racist remarks?

terrible

i for one believe that women shouldnt be in the mans game and likewise for women.

thats why we wont ever see mixed sex teams.

imagine when one of these women makes a mess up there will be mass out cry

That is shocking. Whether you like andy gray or not you don't deserve to be sacked over a Tongue in cheek comment, they had both apologised and apology had been accepted.

Madness.

Yay we will now have Ben Sheperd instead! (Sarcasm)

Totally agree! Stupid remark to make - but he apologised and it's hardly life threatening - get over it and move on.

i think this video sealed the deal with the sack

Still think he shouldnt have been sacked

Wheres the freedom of free speach without something being racist or sexist. Imo women linesman need to linesman a womans game ..

Would it even make news if a woman made similar comments about a man? Ever seen something like Loose Women??

I can't see it on the website yet, can't tune in as am on my phone. What did they say regarding keys? Surely a double sacking?
#14
yep, nothing to do with the fact that he's involved in a high profile case suing the News of the World which is another Murdoch organisation ;-)
#15
Seems to be to do with this aswell as the lineswoman:

I don't think it was "tongue in cheek", they genuinely believed in what they said. Saying that, they were caught red handed being sexist and looks like they are being made an example of.

Disgusting reaction by Sky.

PC mob and thought police get there way again

Apparently there's downloadable content available for FIFA 11, it's a commentary expansion. It doesn't really do much but if a woman picks up the controller Andy Gray tells her to get off back to the kitchen

And that is mutual consent and not the sack.

good lets hope they get rid of that other clown...... Keys

The thing that I like about this whole thing is that the woman who made the Offside call was actually right about the decision. The other thing I like is that Andy Gray is a knob anyway, and it's good that I won't be hearing his voice again any time soon.
#22
It is political correctness too far, but then he should be aware of that. No one is unexpendable. He has brought his employer into disrepute and for my firm that is a sackable offence too.

and thats the point-I was saying to a friend last night that gray and keys would be sacked and he thought they were "unsackable" Whilst I do think this is blown out of all proportion, karen brady will say that they sacked atkinson over racist remarks and is this any less of a "crime"

It should not be underestimated how much clout karen brady has-keys will be next. Whether you agree with this or not,so many people have been caught out with "off mic" comments in the last few years, they really should have known better

Exactly.

Imagine if he raped a child, or if he gassed 6 million Jews.

I mean, he didn't, but imagine if he did.

It's nothing more than 90% of the lads down the pub would have said ffs. It wasn't malicious, football is a mans game and andy is a little old fashioned that way. their is no need to mix the sex in football. The suspension and news headlines were enough to make an example of them.

You agree with the sacking?
#29
Poor Andy. Hope he appeals.
#30
Sky said they terminated Gray's contract "in response to new evidence of unacceptable and offensive behaviour".

So it was for the bit before the game started then, when he was pitch-side.

No but I can see why they were. They just got caught out and in this day and age they could not get away with just a telling off. Their views are probably the same as the majority of men who watch football.

If a man goes on a make up course, I would imagine they would know quite a bit.

Nah, it's to do with the Charlotte Jackson video imo.

It looks like he's been set-up good and proper by somebody within Sky.

Bit of a joke tbh, sacked for making a sexist remark? If a woman makes a sexist comment it's regarded as women having a laugh (Loose Women for example). But a man does it, and the feminism brigade (Karen Brady for example) are up in arms....
