'if they have been paid twice how do i get the money back'

You don't unfortunately, your partner does.

Silly I know but you will have to wait until he gets up...

i know he will have to deal with the bank but i mean will the bank sort it out or do we have to go to each of the stores to sort it out.

its weird as i logged on yesterday and i never noticed they were there twice and they are from last weekend start of the week, its not big amounts but if they have been paid twive then its nearly £80.

I bank with santander and a couple of purchases are showing on the list twice (next to each other) this is just an error and the balance figures are correct. If you look in the end column you will notice the total amount in the account reads the same as the transaction before.

thanks, ive been looking at balance and trying to get my head around it lol theres so much gone out and my heads baffled and im normally good at maths haha. they must be slow at updating this week maybe, as on wednesday there was £40 in my partners account then the next day there was £104 and nothing had been credited so god knows what they were doing.

It will be a problem with the online banking service duplicating transactions, if you made payments to each of those companies it's unlikely that they all put through 2 seperate transactions by mistake. If there has been a problem with your card it would have just duplicated the transaction authorisaton number, and one of those will have been automatically deleted as a duplicate (or should have been).
It's probably more hassle than it's worth phoning Santander, your phonebill will probably end up more than any duplicate transactions anyway and you'll still not have a solid answer.
