Take it back the guy was lying the have found them all

I reckon its overweight. Because they are basically stranded out to sea, I reckon they trying to cut their journeys short by allowing more passengers on board when its obviously not safe.

I'll admit they have cut down on flights our platform has gone from 6 flights to 3, but the crew has pretty much halved as well. They cant get more people onboard than seats so couldnt over load it that way. I very much doubt if they would risk overloading on freight either. Not good at all, especially for the families but its odd that its Bond again.

Maybe its a batch from the factory - something thats wearing away after a few years of use?

My thought are with the familys of all 16....

Not good...hoping someone has been picked up by a foreign ship but not looking likely...so close to home as well...hate this cos most people I know work in Oil and gas and used to work in IT at shell so used to deal with the rigs so always waiting to hear if its some poor ****** I know. Plus there are a few regulars on here who are 'offshore tigers' - Bazarric etc - hope they are okay .....Fingers crossed there are some survivors, and my thoughts are with the families...and of course the guys waiting to go home/fly out - i know their families panic for next few trips and bet some of them do too....even though for amount of journeys they are safer than most other transport, though chances of surviving far less than a car etc...

They have reduced the amount of traning for an RGIT but tbh dont think anything could prepare you for that, especially as they say the choppers arent designed for heavy impact into sea....

Well they are still looking but said there is very little chance they will find survivors. Very sad
#27
Maybe maintenance cutbacks due to price of oil dropping
#28
I didnt really think things through when I posted this thread. Suppose had become a bit immune to bad outcomes as there have been some lucky escapes recently. Feel really sad for the relatives etc. Thoughts go out to all connected with events.

Another thing i remembered this morning as well, we all had our locator beacons taken off our life jackets earlier in the year as there was worrys they would interfere with the choppers locator. Doesnt seem such a good idea now since they havnt found the other bodies. Very sad indeed.
