Not old at all - RS232 is still very common in current devices, primarily to connect a terminal to admin hardware when other interfaces such as ethernet are unavailable. Was just working with the phone system today at work connected over RS232.

Hmm...you've not quite answered your own questions correctly...laptop hard drives are both currently pata and sata - sata is standard for 2.5in drives (connector is identical to desktop drives conveniently) but 1.8in drives have not quite reached that stage as Toshiba have just started shipping their new 240GB pata 1.8in drive. These drives are common in ultralight laptops although I don't know if they've standardised on the connector yet as it's been two different ones for a while.

Q5. Digital Visual Interface and Video Graphics Array

Actually, if you want the two most common ones it's LVDS (used for laptops) and VGA (or possibly DVI).

faevilangel

Q7. DOs

Wasn't this called PC-DOS?

faevilangel

Q18. Dell

An ambiguous question, but I'd have said IBM as they put a lot of standards in place with their PS/2 - or possibly compaq as they created the first 100% PC compatible.

faevilangel

Q19. Tim Berners Lee

I think you'll find Tim Berners Lee only invented HTML which is the technology behind displaying webpages, the internet was already going strong by that time and IRC and usenet already existed.

Go easy on the guy, he doesn't even know what serial is ;)

Somewhat ironic when generating a hardware quiz but there you go...
