If you have a local Asda open 24hrs, pop out and get some Orajel...it numbs the area and is good for toothache

Here's some info on it

There should be an emergency out of hours dentist, maybe google it or phone NHS direct and ask them for the details in your area.

How can I see a dentist at nights and weekends?

Emergency out of hours treatment is available through a referral from NHS 24 on 08454 24 24 24. Please note that out of hours dental treatment is a limited service, so check before making your journey.

A Dental Nurse takes the call and if they assess that you are an emergency case and cannot wait until your dentist opens, you may then be given an appointment to attend our out of hours service at the Glasgow Dental Hospital and School in Sauchiehall Street.

Maybe you could phone the emergency dentist tomorrow, the service is there for times like this, they might be able to fit you in.
I go to a private dentist (no NHS spaces in any of the dentists in town) and you still have 1 - 1 1/2 months wait for an appointment!
I've never used the emergency ones but they might be able to sort you out before you go on your hols. I hope that you have a great time away.

Not sure about tablets because I don't like taking them.

My fella was recently taking pain-killers that made him very drowsey you could do with some of them :-D

You can take paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time and a salt wash and gargle might help.

My words of advice: eat lots of fibre!

It should make you sleepy and give that salt gargle ago. I hope you get some sleep and it gets sorted tomorrow morning.

In Cardiff, we have a dental hospital and can present at the emergency clinic in the morning on a first come first served basis. People start queuing from 6.30 just to get the morning appointments. They have students who do the work under the supervision of fully qualified staff and it doesn't matter if you are registered with a dentist...they treat most emergencies even if it is only a patch up til you can get an appointment with your own dentist. I took my ex along and they ended up sedating him and cutting his gum to get his tooth out just so he could get some relief.

See if Glasgow have the same? So sorry that you are in pain.

Post a pic of the inside of your mouth, specifically the are that is in pain. My mate is a dentist so he may be able to "diagnose" your condition.

When I was going travelling I told the dentist and they gave me an appointment the next day.

Try the NHS helpline, you've got two days so they might be able to help you get an emergency appointment with someone.. im guessing it will probably be with the dental hospital at such short notice.
Good luck, I hate going to the dentist :-(

I kept putting trips to the dentists off for years cos....its not nice, id rather run away
but if its hurting you now then it best to get it sorted before you go on holiday.
I hope the dental nurse helped you

Hopefully you have managed to sort out some sort of dentist appointment by now. If not consider the GP. There have been times when I have had tooth pain and there has been an infection that has been sorted with anti-biotics. Will probably still need a dentist at some point anyway but this alternative may tide you over.
#39
hope you get it sorted, i had a similar problem few years ago, had terrible toothache just before i was due to go to greece, i wasnt registered with a dentist so had to go private as it was so bad, cost me £140 in the end for a filling and x rays but was worth it, the last thing you want is to ruin your holiday with toothache.
#40
hi op hope you are feeling better this morning :)
i've had problems with my teeth the last couple of months too, so i know how horrible toothache can be. cross your fingers that'll you'll need antibiotics as they shifted my epic toothache nice and quickly.
hope you get it sorted out soon!
