It's not as if knowledge in one field can't be applied to another. What's the problem with it?

When you turn it on it takes the 30 seconds to boot as normal and then the alarm buzzer sounds and nothing shows on the screen but vertical bars like a test screen ,I have done a system reset and also removed the Cmos battery and replaced but still the same.

Sounds like screen refresh rate/ frequency issue.

What are you using to monitor it? How is it connected?

Sorted it after trawling CCTV forums,When you press and hold the display button it throws up a test screen to set up monitors ,Thanks anyway,

I just bought a 4 channel mobile DVR at the weekend and got 2 cameras delivered yesterday ,connected them to try for an hour or so ,switched off ............switched on again and coloured lines all over the screen and the unit fan was off . Really thought I'd broken it and was ready to box it back up .Turned out to be the power supply I was using , suddenly was'nt supplying enough power .Plugged in my Eagle 12V 5A PSU and all was well .................Phew ............panic over . Finnicky things these DVR's must be.
