Hi, I am looking at buying a virtual reality home cycle trainer;content=8;pid=69;menuid1=5;menuid2=69;product=6732;ID=830414460c743850a66bd5c87ffceed5
and need a computer with the following minimum specs to run it:

CPU: Pentium 4 or higher
Memory: 1024MB
Disc space: 850MB
Videocard: DirectX9.0b compatible with 128MB dedicated videomemory. Onboard (integrated) -graphics might not work. (GeForce FX or equivalent, not shared)
Sound card: DirectSound compatible
Various: 1 free USB port
DVD drive: to play the Real Life Videos
OS: Windows 2000, XP

I was looking at the Acer aspire revo and was thinking of hooking it up to my sony 40" LCD and using it as a monitor.

The question I have is do you think the Revo could run the above hardware/software.

The revo specs are:

# Processor: Intel Atom 230 1.6GHz
# Memory: 2GB
# HD Capacity: 160GB
Dedicated graphics: 512 MB
# Display: None
# Graphics Card: NVIDIA ION
# Optical Drive: None
# Operating System: Vista Home Premium
# Networking: Wireless 802.11b/g, Ethernet LAN 10/100

Thanks for any help you can give.

Should be OK but your issue lies in the OS - Is says recommended 2000/XP, although you could run in compatibility mode but there is still the chance it might not work. Perhaps set up a virtual machine and install XP onto it to run it? It's worth a try on Vista first though.

Also if you have an external USB DVD drive, that might help too :)

Otherwise, just from the specs it should be fine.
