Hi all.

Have never watched CSI before but thought I would give it a go, seeing as it has good reviews.

I just rented CSI: New York from Lovefilm, but is that the beginning? Because I see that there is CSI: Miami and stuff so where am I supposed to start? Am I okay to start at any of them or do they lead on from eachother?

Answers on a postcard please LOL!

The original CSI is the vegas one, then was branched into New York and Miami. Im not keen on the Miami one as I cant take Horatio seriously :)
Out of all 3, vegas is my favourite but has lost 3 of its main characters recently, but I guess that happens.
I have watched every episode of every series of CSI:Vegas and still continue to watch the repeats on Five USA :)
Curently the brand new series of Vegas is on Tuesdays @ 9pm on Five and New york is on Saturdays around 9-10pm on Five.

Am the same as you!
I've watched every csi vegas and the odd repeat. The new series is not as good with the 3 characters gone, not a fan of the new guy. Still watch though, but not so eagerly.

You can watch any series from anywhere, but I'd recomend vegas from the start. Happy veiwing

totally agree, it does take a few episodes to get into the flow but it is well worth watching before Miami and NY.

Have a lot of the new ones to catch up on but can't bring myself to watch the ones without Grissom yet

CSI Vegas is the second best programme on the telly IMO just behind Criminal Minds.

Thought the three would be missed but I quite like the naiveness of Lawrence's character. (missus don't like him tho)

There is a twist coming with him in future episodes.

Loving Fringe on Sky and The Mentalist atm too.

Thanks guys - I have 2 discs of New York here already so CAN I watch them - as in, they don't follow on from Vegas?

Or should I return them and order Vegas instead? :-D

EDIT: Didn't realise there were SO MANY seasons - think I will start with Vegas, so hat's the one that's just labelled 'CSI', right?

Miami and New York are entirely seperate and so can be watched before Vegas.

Yes Vegas is just known as CSI. I guess until the others were started and can now be referred to as CSI Vegas.

Worth starting at the beginning tho if you can as you get all the relationships and underlying storylines then.

watch them as they are all seperate, they all have an episode where they join forces so to speak but doesnt matter too much the order and yes vegas is just CSI

Thanks loads!

There are 8 seasons in CSI so think I will just send these back and start from there, just to be proper :)

I am getting into The Mentallist too, seems to be getting better each week.......big fan of Law & Order SVU and Criminal Intent.
Looking forward to the new series of Dexter starting soon too.

Regarding Fishburnes character, he is slowly growing on me but sadly can never replace Grissom and the new girl, Riley adams, just annoys the hell out of me!

Love CSI buy NY is my fav - started watching it when channel 5 came on freesat (we live at the bottom of the hill so couldn't get it before!). Bought NY from the beginning and have watched to the end of series 3 and there are a few bits in later episodes that make more sense having watched the early ones!
Always watch vegas on Tuesdays but hadn't seen many previous series except odd repeats so have now got the first 2 series (good old HMV @ £5.99 a set!) plus the first series of miami to watch later!
Along with without a trace, the best series on TV!

make sure they add pics sounds like large boxsets to me (more than one season) if so they are probably fakes from asia and i am sure you can get them cheaper lots on ebay going for around £5 per box set (half a season)
also like said before hmv had most for £5.99 even las vegas 8.1
