since 2 aaa will be 3v and usb is 5v you would need to add a resistor

put the first box at 5v the middle 1 at 3v and the bottom at whatever mah it needs

I think that USB is limited to 100mA, if that is enough to drive your device then you could try a TS2950CT-3.3 from Maplin, you will also need to add a 0.22uF capacitor between the output and the ground pin, your maplin geek will tell you which pin is which, should coust abot £2 all in.
