Parkers
Ebay (completed listings)
Autotrader

don't look at what it's worth, look at what similar vehicles are selling for. A car can be worth anything but it's what it sells at that's important.

I'd steer well clear of a car they don't even own or drive. Got disaster written all over it.

Have you been to look at it or were you going to buy it unseen?

In all truth if you are unaware of where to get vehicle values from I wouldn't be buying a car. get someone in who knows about cars to help you.

On 29-Jan-11 at 14:28:52 GMT, seller added the following information:

CORRECTION
It has just been pointed out to me by a very clever ebayer (Edjaned) that there are seatbelts for 8 people in this Serena, the middle and rear seats both have lap-belts.
So you are now bidding on an EIGHT SEATER CAR.
Thanks again.

Go to this link http://www.vauxhall.co.uk/offers-finance/value-my-car.html it will allow you to get a Glass' valuation for free, this is the valuations that the trade use and is the true 'book price'

Not much MOT left on it. Could be a disaster waiting to happen.

Had a quick look at the ad and would probably give this one a miss. If you check the guys feedback he does a bit of buying and selling vehicles and vehicle parts - not necessarily a bad thing but he is not exactly up-front about it. The short Mot would worry me and the fact there are several issues already needing addressed.
Also, no mention of any service history or how many previous owners. Checked the Insurance Database and the vehicle is not currently insured so might have been lying around for a while. Did a Vehicle Check on Reg No. and no record of any previous accident damage.
At the end of the day it is your decision and your money but I would be tempted to give this one a miss.

I agree about his feedback etc. I probably expect a bit too much but I would have liked to see somewhere in the ad or a 'ME' page which highlighted the fact he 'deals' albeit on an infrequent basis. We both know to check the feedback to ascertain what he has been buying and selling on ebay, however, those not familiar with the workings of ebay might not think to check feedback descriptions etc.
I didn't mean to dis-credit the seller in any way as his feedback is 100% and description of the vehicle seems honest enough in pointing out the faults. As I say, probably me being too picky.

Don't like the fact that he puts there maybe other things wrong with it. When it all goes bang he'll just say 'told you so, it was your responsibility to check'

At the end of the day its naive for buyers to think they will have a lifetime warranty with cars bought off the likes of ebay. It's surprising how many buyers will come back after months of use saying etc is wrong.

as with any vehicle you should go check it out, so you have no complaints but tbh for the money if you didnt know much about cars id take a punt if it was what i ws looking for

its called being honest.....its your responsibility to check the vehicle yourself which is what he advises you to do....hes mentioned the things he has spotted but clearly hasnt driven it much. you can always ask him how long hes had it and see from the documents when you go to check it out

quite pricey?? lol he edited his post with ur comments..... u're famous!!

You'll get basic price info on here http://www.usedcarexpert.co.uk/login.aspx?strAdPreference=afgh, just enter vehicle make and model near the top and see what comes up, you should be able to adjust for mileage etc
