I wanna know how you make that kinda stuff!
#2
What package are you using to do that?

The edges of the head (hair) don't look right, perhaps needs better blending with the background, could add a bit of blur around the edges of the head maybe?

#8
Hmm for ones like them 30mins but when i have more time im gonna spend a few hours making one.
#9
How did you get the picture onto the background? Thats the part i cant figure out.
#10
Create the background, make a new layer and cut around the picture u want and then smooth the edges.

would try using a few more brushes and not just one colour. also try useing airbrush then use gaussian on it. also mess about with gradient map.

good start tbh.

www.pixel2life.com is a good tutorial site. ive always thought its best to teach yourself though, and pick up hints etc from sites such as that.

heres two pictures I edited using photoshop after playing about with a camera in the garden.

I'm honest. I prefer the other two. I think that one just ruined my compliment, but I can also say thats an amazing start you've made. A lot better than mine was. If I can find some of my first work I'll upload it.

That one was made with new brushes ive never used and never tried that style so was unsure if it was good, thanks for your comments :)

What the guy above said. I'll be honest, mine wasn't legit, but I don't have it on my PC anymore since of formatting.
#23
Ye torrents :) so yeh dont tell anyone please :(
#24
I've always wondered how people got it, When photoshop was first around it was bundled with PC's for years, Now it costs a small fortune.

I've never actually used photoshop, Although it does look quite good.

Similar to dreamweaver in that respect, You can bet if they lowered the price more people would buy.

Yeh its true. £300 for some software, is very expensive. Though they can charge that price to businesses and sofourth because without a license they're screwed. I remember the place I did a few weeks work, they were having Microsoft come in to seven of their offices to check over 1,500 machines were legally using the Microsoft licenses. If the computer was found without the license, there was a possible fee of up to £50,000 per machine.

colours look too similar to me and the render looks too light. mines not legit but gimp is similar if you dont no about torrents/usenet.

liquify is a tool in photoshop that automatically blurs the edges around 2 seperate layers, relieveing 2 harsh edges.

Photoshop is an artform to make things look really good you need to take time, zoom in around the hair line and match tones around the hair line, each pixel at a time if you have to.

ditto. your pics look good, but you need to spend time with your selection when you're cutting the main image away from its original background. Looks fairly jagged!

I'm a full time graphic designer, highly recommend typing 'photoshop tutorial' into something like YouTube. I'm forever finding new techniques I can apply to my commercial design.
#30
its one of those apps that you can learn fairly quickly, but will take you a lifetime to master.
#31
I think im getting better, this is my latest (if border doesnt show its because of the forums colour)

odriscoll, good stuff! I get down&dirty with the GIMP myself but have found the vids at http://revision3.com/pixelperfect helped with basics even though "Bert" the presenter (who you will soon realise is someone special) is using PS and Illustrator.
