I am completing a Law degree this year, but dont want to be a solicitor...so I am thinking about the police, but i really wouldnt want to go 'on the beat' as im a bit of a wuss!!!
I would love to go into the dog handling or dog training area, but I have no idea how to get there, would presume they get recruited internally. Also i have no idea if they even actually train the dogs internally or get them trained from a different company?
Would also consider going into the CID type investigation areas.
Just looking for some pointers, would love to get into them jobs, but being a 'normal' bobby would be a bit too scary for me I think! I graduate this summer so thought it is about time i start thinking about these things!

Thanks for any help...rep left for useful pointers :)

Generally - Just reasearch carears in the police. With a Law degree, your bound to go into the force at a higher level than most of the lads just leaving college or whatever.

Chances are you will have to do the beat for 6 months ish tbh - In the police its about a team aswell.. being a "wuss" doesnt matter.. and im sure your training will beat it out of you.

ALSO: T.A.S.E.R.s for all officers very very soon =D

The services of DC are required here me thinks, DC or Dog_Cop to give him his full name would be mroe than helpful, I think his name tells you about what he does.

so your old mans a "Copper In Disguise"?
I think a very sharp knife* would probably get you into a Police person, but the stab proof vest may take some stabbing!

*just kidding I do not condone the use of knives to "get into the police"

Obviously the police isn't for you dude.
If you are a bit of a wuss and scared to go on the beat your fellow officers will not hold you in very high regard tbh.
Think of another career imo.
