Take the battery out and don't try and turn it on

Leave it in a bowl of rice in the airing cupboard (or somewhere else warm and dry) for 2 or 3 days and then try turning it on again

if you've tried to turn it on its probably made it worse

As for cheap deals:
this is the best at the moment http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/htc-wildfire-vodafone-126-no-top-up/768877
you may have to get it unlocked when it arrives as it may only work with vodafone SIMs. Keep an eye on the thread cover the next few days while people who bought one report whether they are unlocked or locked to vodafone

You may also be able to get a replacement from t-mobile. It's worth a call to them but don't pay over the odds - £150 would be a good price as its about £20 to unlock the vodafone one.

or remove battery and use a hairdrier to dry it out.

thank you, that is a really interesting read! Mobile is now in rice in an airtight bag in airing cupboard fingers x

Just wanted to thank everyone who bothered to reply. Tried everything, rice, airing cupboard, silica gel, left in the sunshine and a week after the wash the mobile sprung into life again, charged up and everything is working fine!
So pleased, so the message is, never give up !!
