Hi Guys

I have found this is the best place to go when you cant make your mind up or looking for help/ advice.

I want to take my sister away for here 21st with me other brother and sister but I cant really make my mind up........:(

So looking at a 3 day trip somewhere nice in May.

Somewhere not to loud or lary.
Good for a night out to have slightly more then a couple of drinks with music/dance floor with a short walk back to the hotel.

Ideally it would be cheap as possible because I will be paying for 4 people. Flight and accommodation.

Which airport(s) do you want to travel from and any restrictions on dates (eg, Start, Middle or end of May) and does it need to be Fri-Sun, Mon-Thu etc.

Had a quick look at the sites I usually use (we go on several short breaks a year and book the flights and accommodation separately as always works out cheaper). Anyway, depending on your views regarding Easyjet and Ryanair, you can get return flights to Faro (Algarve) with Easyjet from Gatwick on Friday 20th May (6.15pm flight) and return on Tuesday 24th May (9.20am flight) for £63 return per person, or about an extra £10 pp if you wanted to return on the Monday. Alternatively, Ryanair will probably be cheaper but haven't released their prices for late May as yet - we got Return flights to Faro from Edinburgh 3 weeks ago for £12 pp return and have booked again for start of Feb for £10 pp return (these prices are based on cabin luggage only but more than adequate for 3/4 nights as you get 10kg with Ryanair. Again, some people dismiss them out of hand but we have had no problems and can't beat the prices.

Regarding accommodation we primarily use travelrepublic.co.uk - having a look on their site there are plenty hotels/apartments available for these dates for about £15 pp for the whole 4 nights (not per night but for the entire stay). You can then decide if you want 1 apartment for 4 or 2 studios for 2 each.

If you wanted transfers from the airport to your resort you can also book through travelrepublic.co.uk and works out about £10 pp return.

Faro was coming out about the cheapest and weather at end of May will be in mid 70's with plenty to see and do. Albufeira is the main resort for Clubs/pubs etc and has the Main Strip in new part of town or a 20 minute walk into the Old Town for a change of pace. Also have options of day trips to Seville, Lisbon, Gibralter etc.

You will probably get cheaper flights nearer the time and accommodation prices shouldn't have changed much. Faro is only about 2.5 hr flight from London.
Other options for short flights are Barcelona (either via Barcelona or Girona Airports) or the Balearics, Malaga (for Costa Del Sol area) etc etc but you will find the accommodation in these places are probably significantly dearer and we find Faro (Algarve) represents better value for money. If you take the chance with flights and book nearer the time you should get a deal for about £45-£65 pp including flights, accommodation and transfers. Our 4 day trip in December cost £54 pp all in and our forthcoming one in February is about £45 pp for 3 nights.

Whatever you decide, have a great time.

Not a problem. We do quite a lot of short breaks as hate long haul flights and been to most destinations at least once, so any questions just ask away.

Regarding their landing tune, couldn't agree more - almost makes you wish you land 30 mins late as they only play it for on-time landings.
