They were so loud yesterday with there music, all bloody day and half the night. Any ideas on what to do to wake them up now when they will need sleep as they must be very hungover?

Play loud music?

Seriously though, I'm a noisy neighbour and a hardcore drinker. We don't really get hungover.
Just go round with a hammer and tell them that you are **** off.

Put up a mirror and a some large pictures requiring multiple hooks on the wall between your two houses, preferably upstairs as bedrooms are more likely to be up there (unless they are in a flat above or below). Then plenty of hoovering to clear up the mess.

Are you in a semi/terraced?
If so, get the hoover out right next to their bedroom wall, start hammering nails into the adjoining walls, loud music, set some alarms off....... :p

the people living next door to us have 2 small kids who are up all hours SCREAMING at the top of their lungs, and i mean screaming, could swear someone being murdered .
if theyve had us up all night and its gone quiet by 9am i get the hoover out and do the stairs and bedroom next to the mum & dads. then you hear the kids screaming and they are all up.
it really p's me off at 4am most mornings to be woken up by this, my hubby works shifts and my son wakes when they start cos his room is next to theirs. 4am every day for the last 4 months and they can scream for upto 3 hours with out stoping. spoke to the mum whos a nurse she said oh well never mind! and the dad is a drip!

it was mine too, i think they just scream to get their own way, and the parents dont go running if they start they just let them carry on, the mum told me once that they dont believe in discipline!
they do it in the garden as well, i thought omg whats going on at first
they are at it again in the garden, they start quiet chatting then oh boy screaming, the dad is out cleaning the car and i hear the hoover going so no one gone to see why again.

Why didn't you just ask them to turn the music down, or to be quieter next time?

If it gets that bad just phone the council out of hours team, tell them how long it's gone on for and they could send someone round to tell them.

Maybe the neighbour know what a gutless little whelk you are and just likes to watch you squirm knowing you ain't got the nads to complain....quite funny really, it was a lovely sunny day and they were enjoying it and you were sitting on the other side of the wall stewing over nothing.

The neighbour is probably up and drinking in the sun right now.
Blasting out music hopefully.

we tend to cut the grass to annoy neighbours , nothing like the sound of a petrol lawnmower in the morning :D

I'd say the same thing to his face or call you a nob to yours.

Seriously I would

Hammer a few more nails into your skirting boards, or just put the music on loud! :D

I've got this neighbour who is nocturnal and noisy at night. He sleeps during the day and generally has no respect when iv confronted him saying that what he is doing isnt illegal so why should he stop.

Iv said to him that there is a thing called respect and common decency but he only understands the letter of the law.

Im wary of speaking to him again in case he feels threatened so basically we just leave the hi fi on full volume during the day. Totally legal.

He soon got the message.

Id go with the lawnmower too, ive done that to my neighbours before as they make a lot of noise at night even with the stairs between them and me

You go round and ask them to stop.

If they respect you then they will. If they don't then you have to deal with your position in life, as someone who doesn't garner respect and will be a perennial doormat.

Utter rubbish. Some people just have no respect for anyone.

I'm a polite guy, i offered my neighbour the chance to be more reasonable and even said that he should tell me if i ever disturb him but all he could do was quote the law.

He obviously knows i could flatten him if i was that sort of person which is why im wary of speaking to him again. He would probably complain to the police that im threatening him.

With people like that you have to give them a practical demonstration of the foolishness of their mentality which is what i did and it worked.

I had to train him like a dog and with some people that is the only thing that they understand
