Any laptop help would be appreciated

Any help appreciated. I want a laptop for less than £400 and the following things are important to me:-

Basic photoshop
Basic video editing
Streaming live football
Watching HD films
Wireless connectivity
Have numerous things happening all at once such as running spotify, unzipping a file, taking pictures off a camera and having more than one web page open and moving between pages.

Ideally I want to be able to do multiple things and whilst these are happening I still want the the internet to be extremely fast in terms of moving between sites and pages.

Things that I dont need to consider in the slightest:-

Battery life
Weight and size
Gaming
Webcam

Basically I am interested in this

but want to know for my needs is the processor more important than the amount of RAM? If it is Ram then would I be better off with this:-

If anyone has any other laptop suggestions please let me know.

Looking at the info you have given...You only need a basic with 2gb ram..Decent Hard Drive for storage..Wireless is pretty much standard and as you are not playing games the graphics does not have to be mega. IMHO get a large hard drive for storage and all the streaming is internet speed not PC. HD films can be done with VLC which is free if you google..I guess if your tight for money you should get something for £300 from Tesco etc end of line..Good Luck

depends how basic your photoshop and video editing is. Photoshop is a massive program even if you aren't doing too much. Most video editing programs are VERY processor hungry too. Avoid cheap processors, ie amd sempron, intel celeron. Go for a decent speed core 2 duo i'd say. You ideally should have 4gb ram if you're gonna be running windows 7 with programs like that. As the guy above said 2gb will work but for how long? You don't wanna have to upgrade laptop ram if you're not too computer savvy.

Thanks for the help but have you any thoughts on the two lap tops I'm considering. In other words with what I am wanting to do should I go with the laptop with an Intel® Core i3-330M (2.13Ghz, 4Threads, 3M cache) pocessor and 3GB of RAM or the one with an Intel Pentium dual core T4300 processor and 4GB's?

Thanks

Go for i3 one you mentioned above. Its the latest processor and has more cache (3MB) and two threads per core - so 4 threads in total. I am running the laptop and extremely happy. Go for it.
The only thing I dont like about inspiron is the keyboard but if you have space to plug in a usb keyboard than that's not an issue.
I have posted the Windows Experience Index in the other thread.

Processor: 6.2
Memory: 5.5
Graphics: 4.3
Gaming graphics: 5.1
Primary Hard disk: 5.9

Overall its quite impressive in Processor and graphics considering it has an Intel HD onbaord graphics chip.

Windows Experience index tells you how powerfull your individual components are. On Win7 its a value on a scale from 0 to 7.9

Processor: 6.2
Memory: 5.5
Graphics: 4.3
Gaming graphics: 5.1
Primary Hard disk: 5.9
