You will need them to undertake a Transfer of Equity and this will usually be about £150-£275+vat.

Then you are looking at disbursements such as Land Registry fee (off the top of my head this is £50) and then bankruptcy searches. These are usually £3 per person.

Plus you will need the consent of the mortgage company. It is easier to get this when adding someone on as opposed to taking someone off.

If you are not married then I would also advise that you speak to your solicitor about a Declaration of Trust. Unmarried couples usually fall in to the trap of not specifying shares in the property which can be a problem if things go wrong between you. The fee for a declaration of trust can be about £100.

No worries. You could do the Transfer yourself but you DEFINITELY need to tax advice if you are an unmarried couple.

The forms required for the Transfer (if you wanted to Google them and see for yourself) would be a "TR1" and also an "AP1".

Any further questions just give me a shout!

Good luck! :)

Well if you need any help, give me a shout - there are loads of things to look into - one big thing is if you have to pay a fee to come out of your present one.

I have an offset mortgage and I think it is fee free :)
