Around here?
Thing is my contract ends in 30th November( Just rang orange)
I want to get a contract from the link ( on orange as well) its £10 more on £40pm dolphin and get a 6300 and a free samsung 26" HDTV.
However the guy on the phone said seeing as I am in my upgrade period I can ring them up and they will just upgrade me onto that contract?
Is that true?
Thanks
Jack

My dad just upgraded his orange contract by phone rather than store, they gave him a better deal as well, not sure it works with free gifts though, as they are provided by the store rather than the network, as far as I know.

Id be wary to be honest as said above the free gifts arent generally provided by the network iirc.
Whenever i am upgrading i wait until as late as possible to try and barter and get a much better deal.
Got my phone contract half price this year with a decent phone(which i sold and has paid for nearly all of my contract!)

I know that I'm going through the link so the free gift will be provided by them?

Ring up Orange and ask them what deals they can offer you if you decide to upgrade. They may be able to give you money off, or maybe even a better phone. You won't get the 6300 or the TV though, as they're from The Link...

I have rang them up :)
I want the tv lol!
So I think im gonna go through the link, but what Im wandering is can I upgrade through the link?
Now instead of waiting till November because the guy said I could ?

Yes, the free gift is provided by The Link, and is usually sent a month after your handset with most companies.

If you want to try and get a better deal through Orange, try ringing their retentions department on 0800 0797777.

Ah, OK. :-D Erm, if you ring The Link then it's very possible that they can do that... :)

Hmm Ok
I am sure that I read that the gift was provided 2 days after for the link :S ?

What are these free gift deals like?

Generally get tied to a 18 month/24 month contract.
£40 a month for 18 months=£720.
So from my point of view you end up paying for the "free" gifts
id rather pay £15 a month and not have the free gifts and only on a 12 month contract.
#11
Oh yeah I know that lol!
But actually I'm only paying £5 p/m extra as I would stay on a £35 a month contract

Basically if I didnt get a TV I would get a new phone on probably a £35pm contract, but I would rather have a new tv tbh :p

i got 600 mins and unlimited texts for £25 a month by renewing on the phone - the link wanted £45 for minimum 18 months and i got a free wii. £360 extra for a £180 wii. Orange also give you the chance to renew after 15 months - so effectively a 15 month contract. Do the maths - how much will Orange save you by going direct - times this by 18 - is the tv worth that much?

My point is, leave it until the last month to upgrade see what they offer you. You will more than likely get a good discount on your contract, over 12 months you will probably save as much as the tv costs!.
£40 a month for nearly 2 years is a lot for just a phone contract imo.

Rang orange up:
they offered £20pm same contract and new phone
thing is because Im not 18 contracts in my mums name and she pays for it so shes said shell put an extra £15 in to my account per month.
I cant afford a tv now though so what should I do lol :S
#16
Really not sure lol!
I can either give my mum an extra £5 a month and get the tv now, or I can get the £15 a month and hopefully get one after xmas :s

Do you really need a TV??
