Well i bought one of these TV's 2day from Richer Sounds and going by how the over all picture looks through my Virgin+ box i'm less than impressed! Watching normal standard tv looks really dull and with no definition at all, even on the PS3 i had MW2 running and again it looked terrible.

Playing some Modern Warfare 2 on the PS3 it has a dull sheen over the screen, does not look crisp with the colours having no vibrance and tbh quite blurry! Also on my Virgin TV Menu (the white text listings) it looks blurry with no definition on anything!

Now could anyone on here please list what set up they have with their Sky/Virgin box and also what they have it set too for their PS3?

thx for any help/pointers!!

I knew i should of gone for that LG LCD haha!!

p.s. even watching the HD channels still doesn't look amazing!

Are you connecting everything up with HDMI or Scart? LG's (not sure on your model but...) have a AV Mode button which will cycle through different picture modes including Game, Sport, Cinema etc. Personally I keep mine on cinema which gives a slightly darker more natural picture.

If you have connected everything up via HDMI ensure your V+ box and PS3 settings are outputting at their highest resolution. 1080p is the best but depends if your tv is full HD.

Lastly. how far away are you sitting from the screen? For a 50 inch screen you should be a few metres back atleast.

I really do have egg on my face with this one! the reason why it had this dull effect on screen was that it had it's energy saving utility set to auto sensor, once i turned it off it went away haha!!

Going to leave the settings on default for the time being as i have been told that Plasma's need to be run in for like 100 hours + :?
