Do postmen deliver on Christmas Eve? Waiting on something as well.
Hope so, fingers crossed?:santa:

Everything I have ordered has finally turned up. However, they did take absolutely ages.

I got my Christmas Party Dress on Ebay (as it was sold out in store). It eventually turned up, the day after my Christmas Party!!!! You can imagine I was not happy!

Hope your boyfriends present turns up in time!

Yup there's a delivery tomorrow. I am not used to this, I usually get all my shopping well and truly done early because I hate this nail biting 'eppp will it come?' moment if you leave it til the last minute lol
#6
All i'm waiting on is an Xbox game from an ebay seller (Ninja Gaiden). No rush.
#7
Not due anything, but saw the Royal Mail van delivering this morning...

Working on a Sunday? Must be triple time.

I am on maternity leave at the moment so i have ordered most of my christmas presenets on-line this year because there would be no-one in the house usually to take dels. I would say I was 96% happy overall, which is not bad.
The only problems I have had is with the supermarkets but reading other peoples comments I am not the only one.
So glad I found this site, it has saved me a fortune no doubt about it.
The only thing I didn't do is get on that Quidco vibe, just wasn't sure about it.
Thanks everyone for your fab deals x

expecting loads of packages, nothing xmas but waiting on 9 in total i think. delivery time has been shocking lately. had little support for them over the strikes as it is.

Yeah, I'm waiting for a parcel from Amazon that should have been here a few days ago. It wouldn't be so bad but it contains the presents my parents are giving their Grandson (my nephew). This is the first year they haven't been well enough to go shopping themselves, and I reasssured them that the stuff would get here on time. :-(

I am waiting on one from Amazon as well, should have been here Sat morning and I paid Express del (£9). Checked site and says despatched but nothing. Royal Mail's web site not saying anything - very frustrating. Know how you feel !
#12
Oh dear, mine is from amazon also...expected delivery tomorrow...looks like it's not gonna make it!
#13
I ordered from amazon too & my item was despatched via RM special delivery so should be here in the morning :)

Yeah, they have been working around here the last three Sundays.

I think this year they've been a bit inundated with more and more people doing their Christmas shopping on-line.
#15
Im waiting for something from Play.com which they say was despatched on the 10th :-( The thing is i can't report it missing or late on the site until the 31st :x

snap i hope it gets here as it's something my little one asked for (she only asked for a few bits) and i orderd it at the begining of last week but it's only just been sent on saturday :x

I'm also waiting for a package from Amazon (quite a few prezzies in it). It was despatched on 19th with HDNL and AMAZON guarenteed xmas delivery. However at presnt it is still showing sorted droitwich spa. They are pushing it! Was meant to be here 21st. The swines!
#18
My amazon order turned up yesterday so fingers crossed for you guys. Just waiting for something from DVD.com it said it was dispatched 1st class on wed so I'm REALLY hopping it turns up tomorrow
#19
8 days and counting for a HMV delivery, not going to be happy if it doesnt arrive tomorrow.
#20
Not convinced this is gonna turn up, Amazon already gave me a £5 voucher for it already being late. The status just seems stuck at sorted. It's a long way to come in 1 day. Not impossible but ain't crossing my fingers. Gonna be furious if it don't turn up.
#21
21 days and counting from hmv
#22
Yeah im waiting on 2 more presents, both from amazon with guaranteed delivery by 24th Dec.
Im working tomorrow so I hope they leave them with the neighbour!
#23
In my experience, HMV are rubbish. I'm wating on one more present from The Game Collection, but not going to be too worried if it doesn't arrive in time as was only an extra present for the other half.

I think the postal service has been really bad this year, I ordered things in plenty of time and only just got them before Christmas.

I hope everyone gets their deliveries tomorrow
#24
One more item for my brother although it's to go with something else so it's not a disaster if it doesn't arrive tomorrow, the rest has arrived in time.

Join the club, i ordered my dads pessie about 15 days ago and although i was working in the royal mail sorting office i couldnt find anything for me on our delivery area zone, i phoned hmv 3 days ago to get charged £8 for the phone call using my mobile to have some ignorant git telling me he couldn't understand my accent after telling me im in the wrong place.

My co-workers were laughing their socks off as the call started as i phoned in on loudspeaker and confirmed stuff and then he said "On our systems it should have been delivered by now" i said i haven't got anything he replied "in that case its at your local sorting office" i said no its not im at the local sorting office, he replied "oh are you, in that case tell one of the men there to go and check if your package is there" i said im one of the guys there and its not here.

Guy replied "lazy postman then he couldnt be bothered to go out and check" at this stage everyone on the facing table which we call it was in hysterics laughing so i continued "Im in the royal mail sorting office right now and sitting while stamping every parcel that comes through here" guy on customer support replies "No! your in the wrong place" i was like what :S "ask one of the people who work at the royal mail to get your parcel from the sorting office. i replied "Would ya just listen a second im out the back in the sorting office and working for the royal mail and my parcel isn't here" guy responded sorry i cant understand your accent so i tell him it needs to be here by xmas day.

He responds "well hopefully it should be there for christmas day even if you do work at the royal mail sorting office GOODBYE" i quickly butted in and said don't you dare cut off the line i waited 30 minutes on hold and its probely cost me half what the cd cost me, so i replied so what do i do if the cd hasn't arrived.

guy responded "well the royal mail declares that any item lost in the mail more than 40 days is declared missing" i said are you sure forty and the guy said "yes royal mail declares that if an item hasn't arrived with in forty days its missing, i responded are you joking and the guy responds no i am not joking so i reply well i know its 14 days and to me heres my manager lol my manager then says ahh so this is why the royal mail gets the blame when people like yourself lie about us n stuff like that guy on hmv customer supported hung up.

Ain't they gonna get a nasty complaint letter from me.

Ohh and by the way got fed up waiting went upto their store and bought it for £16 to find out that they are in fact 2 seperate companies, after saying i had already ordered the cd and if it arrived after could i get my money back as i only wanted 1 cd for my dad they said no but you can get store credit :x i said ok then ill take it, thank god i did as it still hasn't arrived.

As reguards posting, this last 4 weeks royal mail has been posting on sundays i don't know as before that as i wasn't working there, xmas eve there will be posting however collection of mail won't happen as 2nd class mail posting stoped last monday and 1st class mail stoped last thursday, normal service will resume the 27th December 2007.

Xmas eve there will be a clearout of all the local sorting offices and dispatch offices during the day i should know as i start work 10am - 5pm doing the deliveries in my area.

As for Hmv ill simply peel off the £12 label on the online buy and take it back to the shop to get a £16 store credit as i hate getting the mick taken out of me by their antics.

And in the case that they are 2 seperate companies both companies will be getting a very mean letter from me about them and their support.

My mother-in-law sent xmas money by special delivery next day last weds, on the tracking site on saturday it was telling me it had be already been delivered but proof of signature was not available yet there has always been someone in the house since weds so didnt miss the post once.
Low and behold this morning the apparently already delivered package suddenly appears at my door along with dead flowers i ordered 2 weeks ago lol.
Good old Royal Mail.

This is day 22 of waiting on an HMV dvd, they used to be good with delivery.. what has happened?

Another parcel RM tried to deliver on Saturday but I missed it :( Got a card and went down to collect it this morning only to be told it has been put back in a van and they are delivering it today.. but I have to go out this afternoon :( agh

edit.. oh it gets better! A card has just been pushed through the door dated the 22nd December saying they could not deliver, no mention of this when i went down to the sorting office this morning!! I was to late to catch the postie and ask what the heck is going on!!

edit2 - lol both have just arrived!!! Yay :):) Hope everyone else gets what they're waiting for.

My package arrived!!! *Phew*

(Along with a present from a friend from Australia - how about that for timing? :santa: )

Good luck to all those still waiting. :gift: *fingers crossed*

Mine didn't come. Thanks Amazon :(
#33
1 fo mine came via Home Delivery Network, the one via royal mail is a no show. Feel let down by Amazon.
#34
Same, I didn't order it guaranteed though so I can't complain...because although they say it'll be here in time for xmas (I ordered it on the 15th!) they don't guarantee it, so it's not even like I can complain. I definitely won't order any thing from Amazon again that I definitely need by a specific date, that's for sure.

My OH won't mind, but I do...it's really put a downer on my day today :(
#35
Royal Mail messing up nicely

Sent something 10 days before christmas recorded delivery, received the item back saying it was refused when the receiver said they never refused delivery!

So had to resend it on Saturday and they wont get it for christmas :(

So p1ssed!
#36
Voice activated Dalek from Tesco and Bratz Dance Stage from Amazon arrived today :)
#37
Just left the Mail Centre where i .... ahem .... work .... and there's no system backlog, most late deliveries are supplier issues, out of stock issues, TNT issues, Parcelnet issues, DHL issues and every other foreign 'cream off the British Post Office' carrier issues. Royal Mails not perfect but great value for money and efficient-ish. Blaming Royal Mail for late internet deliveries is like blaming the England manager for all those prima donna prats not making an effort etc blah blah. Junk mail keeps it going, love it or lose it all.
#38
Amazon has creamed off the Royal Mail contracts but uses the Royal Mail to deliver the final mile. No other European national courier suffers this 'Tory type' idea of unsustainable daftness.
#39
mine came from amazon royal mail special delivery at 8.30 this morning.

mind you one item was wrong! They sent me 2 of the same products! LOL
#40
That's a pain pcnutta, of all the items ordered for Christmas only one was wrong here which isn't bad. The item I was waiting for did actually arrive this morning so it's all wrapped up now :)
