Any recommendations on sofas? Where to/not to buy from?

Hello, Im soon to be leaving home and getting my own place. Most things have been bought except a sofa and i honestly cant believe the prices, Im wanting a 3 and 3 piece suite preferably chocolate brown.
I did some looking around at the weekend and sort of fell in love with a sofa a csl? Anyone used these how do they compare to the others? Good service?

Heres the ones im tempted by:-
http://www.csl-sofas.com/leather-sofas/

Its the bergamo but £1350! :O I never imagined id have to spend this, Obviously im going to have to use interest free finance, Is this pricing normal? Or use e-commerce?
I had looked at argos sofas:-
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/6278025/Trail/searchtext>SOFA.htm

Which seems reasonable but how can i ever get to test this sofa? Actually see whats its like?
Would really appreciate some help

I went to DFS for there sales and had 3 setter and 2 setter on there 0% apr.. i dont miss 42 quid a month at all.
Theres an advert on tv recently with massive savings on leather furniture... cant think of the name though

Avoid argos sofas like a BG1 thread, we tried to get a cheaper 2 piece suite from there it arrived and the quality was poor, we paid an extra £400 (up from £600 at argos) for a cracking one from harveys

cant you hold out a few more weeks til the sale??

I got mine from DFS it's a lovely big corner sofa and it's costing me £18 per month.

Can highly recommend sofa workshop, bought my suede sofa through them, got clubcard points too as they had a showroom in MFI, came with a 5yr guarantee

Thanks for the replies added rep to both, I suppose with everything you get what you pay for. Price just seems alot but i suppose its like a bed you may aswell spend a decent amount as its going to be used daily, Just wanting some opinions on CSL they seemed very helpful a £50 deposit full refundable but used it to ensure if prices increase i dont pay the increased price. But as with all salesmen there always full of false promises the real test begins when its delivered

Also: Yes i could hold out a week or two, We move in 27-28th

We ordered ours in the sales last year (Jan) it was Mid March when we got it, couldn't be happier with it. Worth the wait

Been offered delivery the following week, One of reasons i put deposit down. But as i say dont personally know anyone who have used CSL, Thanks for all the replys

arn't they expensive lol

eBay have lot's of Sofa's.

DFS have a permanent sale, just different offers in each sale.

Can't see the link, but someone posted on here a few days ago about M&S having an offer on where if you buy two sofas you get 30% off.

Ok, their stuff is probably more expensive than other places, but knocking 30% off helps and I know someone who got an M&S sofa last year and the quality is really good, it'll probably last a lot longer than the DFS tat.

They also seem to guarentee Xmas delivery on a lot of stuff.

Go straight to the manufacturers for the best prices, somewhere like http://www.frankknighton.co.uk/ (who last time I checked made Sofa's for M&S, I assume they still do). Failing that M&S themselves tend to have good offers when their lines change.

With places like DFS (Land of Leather etc.) always take the display model if possible, I'm reliably informed that with stores like that the furniture is made to a much higher standard for the showroom and will last a lot lot longer.

Not true for DFS, however their better suites have a 10 year frame guarantee, these are the ones that are better quality and not made in China.;-)

I was told this by one of their suppliers, so I'd assume they know what they're talking about.

Well I was told otherwise by my friend, he has worked for DFS for 17 years.

His job is repairing faulty DFS Suites, each and every day.;-)

I see  lol. I bet he's a very very busy man :giggle:.

Seriously though I'd tend to believe that they do make the display models to a higher spec. It makes sense if you think about it, there tend to be a lot more bums sitting on the display ones day in day out so making them more robust to begin with is a logical step. Can't have wear and tear showing on the display models, it would be bad for business. Plus, like I said, you'd think a DFS supplier would know what they're talking about, I can also think of a few reasons why a loyal employee might be economical with the truth, or even simply not know - Let's face it, DFS are hardly likely to advertise that you'll be getting a lower quality product than the one you sat on in store.

Either way it's worth thinking about if DFS is your cup of tea.

He is, and he isn't the only one in the country either, I think that there about 10 of them that do the same job.
