Any satellite dish experts around?

Ok, so my sky dish is about 6 years old now.

Problems include:

No channels during heavy rain
Pixilation during light rain with only one or two channels working.
All channels work during night time (8pm) onwards.
When its really hot and sunny I only receive Sky News or BBC News 24.

Would these symptoms be due to a dodgy LNB?

For a guy who has so little time to return to his old threads and say thanks, you sure have a lot of time to make new ones.

Go into setup settings and check your signal strength.

Sounds like the dish has probably dropped or shifted over the years and just needs a little tweak.

Get a mate up a ladder to carefully tweak the dish (remember it could need to be moved hor. or vert.) keep an eye on the signal strength on the TV and shout him when its at its strongest.

Its not an exact science but it works.

Or for a meager £60 you could call sky to come and do the same thing...

^^ As above - most likely cause is the dish dropping a little so your alignment is no longer perfect.
Also, check that no greenery (trees, bushes, etc) have overgrown into the path of your signal.
