Any solicitors out there?

I recently purchased a number .97 clearance items from PC WORLD to make a bit of extra cahs through ebay. After a week, I placed an order for an office chair and received an email saying my order was cancelled. I called to enquire about it and was told that I was blacklisted from buying from them, as it was against the terms of conditions of their website.

This means I'm unable to buy anything from any of the Dixons groups. I just want to know if there's any way out of this, as I'm a student and I'm living at home, so I don't think any of my family can now order, as they've blacklisted my address.

Just to let people know, the items I found were NOT through this website, so please don't blame me for being greedy and stopping any of you getting it.

I just wanted to know if there's any way of getting out of being blacklisted, as I'm only a mere student trying to make a bit of extra cash?

Nothing you can do, no

Items sold on this website are generally intended for normal domestic and consumer use and not for resale or commercial use. We reserve the right to refuse access to this website, to remove or edit content, or to refuse or cancel orders at our discretion. If we cancel an order, it will be without charge to you, and we will reimburse any payment made by you.

But as I'm a consumer, don't they need prove that I used it for resale?

how did they know you have put the items for sale on ebay????
#3
Don't think there under any obligation to sell to anyone. Chalk it up to experience and move on.

Their website is invitation to treat - your order is an offer, it's up to them if they want to accept it or not.
Might be worth getting the blacklisting issue in writing though instead of on a phone call - local rag might give you a couple of quid for the story on a very slow news day.

certain companies won't allow their products to be resold on ebay as new and often check the site. I work at a place that designs childrens clothes and we often get letters to say things are being sold on ebay that we hold the license for, if it was us selling the stuff we would be fined heavily etc

1) In response ro your 'move on' comment. PC World didn't give me any warning that I was doing anything wrong and by blacklisting me, they're blocking anyone from my address ordering anything from any of the dixons groups

2) The items I was selling didn't have any licenses, as it was a good sold at many online retailers

It would have been nice if you had posted these deals and shared them with us.

you might sell the advice

Also, they aren't doing anything legally wrong by preventing you from buying fromtheir group of companies. Any retailer has the right to refuse a sale, especially, as in your case, when you have previously done something that breaches their T&C.

Lots of places don't allow stock to be sold for re-selling,seems a bit mad to me,but thats the way it is,i've not heard of an address being blacklisted though.

Even M&Mdirect have it in their terms about re-selling on ebay, perish the thought..lol

They obviously know that's what you're doing, hence blacklisting you! You need to prove you haven't been if anything and you can't as that is what you have been doing!
Best advice would be to drop it and move on tbh.

Agreed. Since you've also admitted to selling their products on for a profit, I don't think you have a case... You were caught on my friend, just be glad you were only blacklisted! Move on

Ditto. Anything you buy is an invitation to treat, you make the offer, they accept. In this case they didn't want to accept. You can't force them.

May seem a a tad extreme to "a little old student trying to make a few quid" but such is life.

This is so funny glad you've been black listed actually, but then there's nothing to stop you going in store and buying stuff

They just assumed I'm selling it on

What they said to me, is that there's a limit of 9 of the same item you can buy from them.

The thing was, that when I tried to place an order for the 10th it didn't go through, which when I enquired and got told that response, but they didn't mention anything about purchasing any other item. So when I went to purchase the chair it was cancelled, and only then did they say I was blacklisted.

this is very funny indeed considering the amount of money lost by dsgi, perhaps if they had followed this student chaps lead the losses may not have been so great.
LOL OP they should give you a job not blacklist you ;) their own staff can't seem to sell enough.

It doesn't seem to make sense, that I'm giving them business and in return they're banning me from doing it
