OK...so it's a few months away yet but I'm going to be turning 30 in Dec...YUCK!

My job is organising and managing events so my boyfriend/friends don't want to organise a party as the say it would suck compared to one I organised myself (2bf they are right lol!)....so....

I don't want a party, maybe just go away for a night/few nights at the start of Dec...before everyone starts getting busy with Chrismas!

Would prefer to stay in Scotland as everyone will be watching the pennys at that time of year...but would like to do something a little bit different, just with a few close friends..

Any idea?? Rep for the good ones!!

I'm always useless at thinking up new ideas - even though I also once worked for a conference events Company. It must be a nuisance having your birthday in December as no one is offering discounts.

Do you have one of those Wacky Warehouse type places where you live (attached to pubs)?
There are places near me that hire them for use by adults or there's also laser quest?

Is there a Wetherlodge in Scotland?
They are good value as you can eat and drink quite cheaply and then crawl upstairs to bed without having to venture outside and potentially get cold & wet.

How about bowling?....or is that too 14th birthday!

For my 30th (some years ago) I went with my parents and my husbands parents (no friends) to a Hilton hotel for 2 nights. It was tame but looking back very special as my parents both passed away 6 years later.

You could always do the hotel thing with just family and then do a friends thing when sales start amongst hotels in January and everyone needs something to look forward to after New Year has come and gone.

Whatever you do have a great one

Thanks...however....Paintballing hurts, think it will be too cold for rafting, deffo not into jumping out of a plane!! I have held a huge halloween party every year for about 9 years and am just selling all my props off at the moment so don't think a theme unless it was halloween (I did think nightmare before chistmas...but gone off the idea!)

normandy hotel for a tribute night £20 per head includes a meal.. if you wanna stay over night it's an extra £20 per person, hopfully you won't get to stay in the erskin bridge (Sister hotel) (bit of a dump) but cheap and its a bed for the night... only thing they don't do anything in Dec

Thanks, my mums taking me to New York at the start of next year for my birthday...can't wait!!

Love the sound of those places but don't think there are any in Glasgow! Hmmm will look into the soft play near my flat...could be a winner!
