Just wondered what to use on a keyboard to clean it. I know you can get those pc cleaning kits but are they worth it????

i use a paint brush something the size you'd gloss with and the hoover nosal, as you brush it down have the hoover nosal next to the brush so the dust gets hoovered away without settling back on keyboard

LOL i just tried using a wet cloth and managed to turn it off twice

To get rid of all the broken fingernails and Christmas glitter, use a dry paint brush in between all the keys.

Use a damp cloth to get rid of all the marks and coffee stains :)

What part of 'turn your pc off' did you not understand ?

You can actually pop out all the keys and clean it that way. Just make sure you know where they all go to put them back.

Depends on the Keyboard. Some do not pop off and you could end up breaking them. :)

This is what I do with my Dell laptop, They come off very easily!!

But the brush is probably a better idea if you don't what to chance breaking the keyboard.

Incase you missed it before............ Loving the new Avi Emma

Yeah, saw it IOM, but I didn't want to thread hijack.

Well, when I did it once, the space bar was never the same again.

Rule #1: Don't use your hover to remove bits.

My mother attempted to clean my keyboard when I was at school a few years ago - She'd sucked all the keys into the hover. The female species cause me great pain...

One of the easiest jobs I did was reseating the space bars at a well known catalogue call center in Liverpool. Used to do about 20 in a mornings call.

The Space bar is probably the hardest to put back, The space bar needs to hook under 2 little clips aswell as clicking into place correctly on the other 2 clips!! (Well it does on this lappy, Not sure of other ones!)

On my main PC, I actually unscrewed the keyboard and just stuck the plastic bit in the sink and cleaned it that way!

Believe it or not I read on a pc website that the best way was just to run the keyboard under a tap....... It did stress to give it plenty of time to dry out. I think I would only do this though if I spilt something like milk on it....

I've just read that you can even put them in the dishwasher.

Ive just put mine in the washing machine and i will put it in a tumble dryer after hope this works

This is true it will get the keyboard looking brand spanking new!

Just make sure you do not need it for a couple of days and let it dry out completely!

I usually spill a glass of red wine on it every so often :?

Turn it upside down bang it and shake it then run it under the tap ... if it goes wrong don't hold me responsible though.
