cut my finger quite deep with a knife and its dripping blood.

dont want to go a and e coz its not too bad.

any tips to stop it bleeding?

Seriously...keep it higher then your arm and apply pressure around the area with something clean and sterile to soak up any blood. Might take 20-30mins if its that bad.

keep your hand raised and apply a tight dressing

as above - keep the wound above your heart and apply tight badage/dressing - bleeding will stop but careful when you remove the dressing as it will scab over and stick to the dressing.

Superglue. Does the job.
of course you can - your blood pulses around your body, and your thumb has it's own pulse.. hence when taking your pulse don't use ya thumb...
Fill wound with salt
