I have an issue with damp in my bedroom and want to fit some trickle vents to help stop the problem, i have found varoius websites selling them but is it possible to fit these to pvcu windows that dont have them already? is it a case of drilling a hole and fitting them over the top? Also i am after some pvcu strips about 2 inches wide and about 1cm thick? any advice would be good

its possible if there is no reinforcing in the frame you can run a sharp drill through and buy surface mounted vents

If you dont want to wreck your windows then fit a vent in the wall instead.

Yep that would do it.

When they fitted my windows last year they were just pre-routed holes in the windows and the fitters used similar

I've had a good result with damp cure by using interior dehumidifiers ( plastic pots of beads stuff) - £1. each 3 in a room - last for week,s no wet on the window sill either. Got the last ones in Asda.
Half my windows have trickle vents & half don't but I don't use the trickles much because I can't stand the draft.
