Anybody any good with cars?!

I was involved in an accident yesterday and badly dented my front wing and back bumper, and completely knocked off my wing mirror on my Rover 25. I have found a scrap yard that sells all three, but they have said that I must remove the parts myself. Does anybody have any idea how to remove any of these parts, especially the front wing, as I wouldn't even know where to start.

Any help would be very much appreciated,

Stufai

I'm pretty sure the wings on rovers are just bolted on.

I'd go elsewhere personally. If you aint got a clue what your doing, you could end up breaking other bits and pieces and them making you pay for them all...

Damn I thought that was how you were meant to do it  That's always been my method, quick in, quick out. As long as I don't break the bit I actually want it's all good ;-)

I used to work on my mini when I was into DIY car work - I used to manage to acquire so many 'freebies' from these guys, it was well worth it when he made up his price.:whistling:

If it's anything like the 45, the front wing is bolted in. Lift up the bonnet and there are three bolts down the side, open the door and there are two bolts there, and there will be two harder bolts - one under the bumper and one underneath the door trim (straight down from the indicator on the wing) hidden away under the trim.

Mirror will be easy to remove - just pop off the cover, unplug the connectors (if electric) and then unscrew! Make sure you catch the mirror before it hits the floor :whistling:

Don't know about bumper. Never done one...but again, it will just be a case of finding the bolts.

You could always take a look around www.mg-rover.org, or www.austin-rover.co.uk and ask there too.

Hope this helps!

As it's a Rover, I have to ask is it worth the bother?
