By the time my newly renewed 3 months free has ended, I'll be bored with these.............

and if not, I'll buy them for half price.

best way of trialling games I reckon.

Half way through Brothers in arms 3 and surprisingly good considering the generally negative reviews.

They are very good for films but never tried games. Will give it a go!

The trick is, as soon as they have them showing on their site then reserve them as then you get first call when they are released. Always works for me.

i did that mate, even with older games they took a while to send.

I think it works when you send the discs back and not on how early you place it on your selection. So, what they do is select the next available game from what they have in stock when you are allocated a new disc.

You misunderstood what I meant. Anyway, I only have games I want desperately on my list. My list consisted of Fifa 09 and Pure this morning. Played every other top title and only games I have ever bought to keep are GTA IV (£13 delivered) and COD4 (£20 delivered).

sorry mate - its such a good service though, as you can keep them for as long as you need. There are only ever a few games that you'd keep going back to. Most of them will give you a few hours play and then sit there collecting dust. So for the monthly fee its better imo than forking out for the newly released games?

Do you have a list for films and a list for games then? How did you do that? Do you have 2 subscriptions?

how u get half price games then?

Tempted to sign up with the 3months free trial and get fifa 09. Does the trial run out if you "rent" more than so many disc's within the 3 months? I haven't really looked into lovefilm before.

I've just finished a 7 month stint with LoveFilm rentals. It was okay, nothing to write home about. If you can put up with a few things,

namely that you dont know which titles you will get until they tell you in an email.

That the priority rating is for your use only and in no way influences the discs that will be sent to you next.

That you are not guaranteed to receive games or dvds if you have a mixed package, I had the 2 disc games&dvd package, sometimes I got 2 dvds, or 2 games or 1 of each but at no time could I say which ones I wanted next, it was always a lucky dip from the list of titles I selected as being wanted.

be careful of the free trials, I originally signed up for a 3 month free trial of dvds which was fine, then it told me about combo packages so I thought brilliant I'll ask for that one, nope, they immediately cancelled my 3 months free trial and charged me 1 month in advance for the 2 disc combo package
These rental places are ideal if you're not bothered about what you receive, which can be a good thing as you get to choose the titles you would like to see but have no influence over when you receive those titles. Its always a lucky dip. So if you're planning to use it to rent a newly released games title and think because its on your list that you will receive it around the release date, then think again, it doesnt work that way.

If you can accept this then its for you, if not then you're going to be very disappointed. Another point to not is that if you cancel your account, make sure you do it at least 7 days in advance of your end date as they will charge you another months fees if you still have discs, even if you've sent them back! if they havent received them then your card will be charged another months rental fee, tricky as they automatically send you titles out when they receive discs back.
