ANYBODY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH 'OUTLOOK' (NEW NAME FOR HOTMAIL.CO.UK)?

Since the take over, I have had nothing but problems and wondered if anybody can suggest how to resolve it at all?

After a few minutes viewing emails, the green padlock in the address bar turns grey with a yellow triangle inside it, and from this point on only half of the words on the page appear, on this page and any others i may have open and my computer slows right down.

I'm not great at resolving any problems with my PC, unfortunately. After a bit of investigating, it states that "The site uses SSL, but Google Chrome has detected insecure content on the page. Be careful if you’re entering sensitive information on this page. Insecure content can provide a loophole for someone to change the look of the page. " and talks about encryption problems on the website - Clear as mud to me!!!

Any help from you friendly HUKD peeps? In plain English preferably !!

They have, if you log into Outlook, but you can switch back to the old style.
There is nothing wrong with Outlook though, it's not like when they change styles on HUKD! :p

I love Outlook.com

So much less cluttered, easier to organise, great design - and you can still use any Hotmail email addresses you have.

What problems have people been having with it?

Sounds more like an issue with your internet service provider. Who are you with at the moment?
#11

#12
How do you change it back to Hotmail ?

You can get messenger back http://messenger-reviver.en.softonic.com/
But that means your friends will have to install the same Messenger Reviver.

Been with hotmail for over 15 years (from the days back when you had to pay for an msn account).
You think outlook is bad now? When they first started rolling it out, it was missing a lot of basic functionality. Though now they've fixed most of these issues and I think I'm okay with it.

However, since the mass migration from hotmail to outlook it has become, on occasion, slow to the point that you can't even log in or send an email before the browser times-out. Although this only seems to happen on chrome.

I wish that was true but since outfook.com happened checking my hotmail.com email on the site has been slow in all browsers - IE (go figure!), chromium, google chrome, srware iron, opera, safari and firefox.

The only answer... Google managed to get a gmail spy into MSoft who is destroying it from the inside.

On my hotmail page the bar across the top which says,Send,Forward, etc. has vanished. Can anyone tell me how to get it back?
#23
Where have my Email addresses gone, can someone tell me how to get them back PLEASE.
#24
Can anybody possibly tell me how to retrieve an email account...I don't know if the fact mine has locked is because of this so- called changeover from co.uk.to com or whatever but I can't get into it and would appreciate some advice please. All I know is when I try to get in, comes up an error box saying something like 'error' of 365 office and something to do with Microsoft/ msm and I can't make out what it means and wonder if anyone is familiar with this enough to explain what I have to do about it and hopefully retrieve my email account A.S.A.P. I was told that my email account has been hacked by someone from Nigeria by someone from a Microsoft number I dialled who asked for money for helping, but I don't buy this nonsense anyway and believe it far fetched,

.co.uk and .com are 2 seperate accounts. I was .com but changed to .co.uk a few years ago.

My transition to outlook for hotmail has been fine. You can still log into hotmail and it will automatically transfer you to outlook. Are ypu trying to access via mobile, for some reason it doesn't seem work on mobile, Well for me anyway, I can only access via outlooksite but again can type in my old hotmail address.

Personally i think you should contact outllook / hotmail, they could tell you what has happened. I know ms charge if you use their online help facility, i had this experience a few weeks ago when i had a trojan but was chaeper to get it fixed locally, although don't think there would be a charge for resetting email.

Change your password if you get sorted. Also check your paypal and ebay incase they too have been hacked and change all passwords. My hotmail / paypal / ebay where hacked into a bout 6 yrs ago. But ebay nd paypsl cottoned on PDQ thnakfully

good luck

Hope this helps.

No problems here, nothing but good things to say. Using Firefox not Chrome though.

Why mess with things that work well? Went into Hotmail yesterday to check through content and the toolbar has gone. Ok so right clicking brings it back in a poor excuse for the original, but then trying to reply to one e-mail, where is send? It has gone to draft without being asked to! Could someone please help me get back to the system that worked? Had to use my phone to reply to the e-mail in the end. For goodness sake MS if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

As soon as I changed to outlook, Google mail shut me out because I refused to make theirs my primary e-mail address. I then concentrated on hotmail, Now I am completely shut out of all my mail at Hotmail. When I rang them for help, I was told I've been hacked into and in order to reinstate me I needed to pay them £250 pounds within 2 hours: if later, it couln't be done. I refused to, as I believe its their duty to ensure I get all the mail sent to me. They definitely hold you to ransom and exploit you !

It would appear that the two words not to use are Google and Chrome, try just going in through explorer

I to am having trouble logging in to my hotmail account, it's driving me insane especially when I'm in a hurry everything pops
up apart from the right. Why do people change things that have worked abso fine for so long, not everyone likes or wants to change.
I have numerous important addresses in my account now can't get in to answer my e-mails or respond to delicate ongoing matters.
JUST LEAVE THINGS ALONE AND PUT IT BACK.....

Sometimes fails completely to open; and when it does work it's EXTREMELY SLOW! New Outlook is rubbish. and doesn't work properly! Very Frustrating
#34
I too have had difficulty accessing my Hotmail account. When I do it is incredibly slow. Never had this problem previously.
#35
Can't check my Hotmail account in Thunderbird it just fails to connect 9/10. Ms really are bad at the minute everything they touch seems to turn to crap.
#36
I have had problems since the change, I log in as normal from the same Hotmail link and it is now Outlook. Since it changed it is very slow, sometimes the login page has to be refreshed just to login, then half the time it says it is unavailable, try again later, very poor!
#37
I am also having serious problems - I have been with hotmail for years with nil problems. Now I repeatedly have problems with Outlook both with logging in and when I do it repeatedly goes down and leaves me with a frozen account. This is useless I am sick of reading about the DNS server and 'please try again later'. I am a small business and I need to be able to access my e-mails. Never had such a carry on and was very satisfied with the way hotmail designed and ran - now I am totally dissatisfied and cannot see how I can rectify this situation. Any ideas?
I have a gmail account shall I transfer everything across - when I can get on to Outlook that is?
#38
OUTLOOK email is absolute rubbish! It doesn't work! Half the time you cannot get on to your email; and when you do?? you spend time waiting for it!! then send a message; and you receive a notification 24hours later telling you : Outlook was UNABLE to send your message. Oh Brilliant! it's the most useless microsoft bit of kit ever! Was it designed by a 2,year-old? Hotmail was better; why were hotmail users forced in to having outlook in place of hotmail?

Works fine for me, have you emailed the outlook team with the issues you are having?
