Saw some excellent bands live in the 80's - Rush, Whitesnake, ZZ Top, Twisted Sister, Saxon, Gary More, Accept, Dio, Maiden, Michael Schencker Group and many many more. Probably explains why my ears are knacked now.

Happy days.

They might be.... but will anybody ever do it better... so many original sounds in one era.... or am i dreaming?
#10
listening to some Priest here.......Painkiller, loud enough to rattle your bones.
#11
Saw Judas priest when i was 13 i think.... in Blackpool... i think... god many years ago... or again... am i dreaming?
#12
Jethro Tull.... bursting out .... headphones on... volume up.... thick as a brick !!
#13
First band I saw was Rainbow on the Difficult to Cure tour in '81 and today I've been listening to Lizzy "Live And Dangerous" and some Whitesnake, circa 1984 when they'd glammed up.

I've always thought I was born 10 years too late. If I had been born in '57 instead of '67 I would have been a teenager in the early 70's for the rise of rock / metal and bands like Led Zep, Sabbath, Purple all rising. What did I get? The end of punk, New Romantics and the fabled NWOBHM (if you read your Kerrang, you should know what that means!).

And I know this won't go down well but Ronnie James Dio is the best front man/midget in Sabbath and beats Ozzy hands down.

Masses of Floyd/Gilmour/Neil Young/Zep(pre 2007 fan!)/early Springsteen.

My idea of heaven is having the 20 odd minute 'Echoes' off of Gilmour's Live in Gdansk playing on my ipod, with my Skullcandy's blowing my brains out.

Saw Dave Gilmour in a converted church earlier this year in a charity gig, playing with 2 (blind) artists from Mali. Great show, no PF unfortunately.

Oh, and getting into Tom Petty lately - since I saw 'Runnin' Down a Dream'. Consider it well recommended. The music is simple stuff, but good tunes.

I listen to Planet Rock daily, well worth a listen.

I got the recent vinyl replica (CD) set 'Oh bt the way' containing all the Floyd studio albums and I'm working my way through it.

I got the "in the flesh" DVD, it's great. They start playing cards and stuff on the table haha.

I'm in need of the Albert hall and Hammersmith Gilmour DVDs tbh. I was gonna wait for the blu-ray to drop, it's been like £30 for bloody ages!

Might just order the DVD version then. Not heard Amused to Death either. Noted.
